This modern villa sits within a gated community and guests here have direct access to a soft-sanded beach. From here, you can explore the Troia/Comporta peninsula – a laid-back beach community favoured by celebs for its relatively unknown stretch of sand where you can go horseriding. The interior is bright and breezy – sleek minimalism verging on sparse – but the full kitchen has all the mod cons and the living room is a delight dappled in sunshine. It’s the outdoor space that really takes the crown though – a suntrap rooftop terrace with a summer kitchen overlooking the coastline and a backyard with a private pool and shaded dining area.

*One of the bedrooms has a set of bunk beds and another has four single beds in one room, so these would be best suited to children.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*The swimming pool isn't fenced. If you're bringing little ones, they'll need to be supervised at all times.
*Air conditioning is in the living room and some but not all of the bedrooms.
*The closest supermarket is 1.9 kilometres away, so having a car is recommended. There is private parking for up to two cars with this villa.
