Holiday home
This detached property situated one mile from Fanore and overlooking Galway Bay has been furnished in a modern style throughout using quality fittings. This holiday home boasts a warming open fire in the sitting room and benefits from a magnificent setting. Accommodation is composed of four bedrooms – one of which is en-suite – a kitchen with dining area and a lovely lounge. There is also a utility room, a spa bathroom and a small patio area with garden furniture. The house is well positioned for access to the amenities and activities of the local area, including many wonderful walks that run from the doorstep.

Located between Ballyvaughan and Doolin in County Clare, the popular village of Fanore is a great place for walkers and surfers, due to its sandy beach. Its location on the edge of the Burren - renowned for its unique flora, fauna and rugged landscape – also make this a site of interest to nature lovers and bird watchers. Also close by, and providing sharp contrast, is the town of Lisdoonvarna - home to the only active spa centre in Ireland, boasting a Victorian pump house, sauna, massage room and mineral baths situated in woodland surroundings. The town is also home to the annual Matchmaking Festival, a 150-year old tradition that takes place during September and October. Lisdoonvarna also boasts eight pubs - some of which offer traditional Irish music - and numerous good shops and restaurants.

County Clare has so much on offer; boat trips, quirky pubs, seaside resorts and a great tradition for Irish music, all set amidst spectacular scenery such as the towering Cliffs of Moher and the fascinating landscape of The Burren.

Self-Catering Reviews

Mr Boehler
December 2019
A well-equipped house in an exceptionally beautiful place above the Atlantic.. There was really nothing to wish for, apart from the fact that in about half the lamps (outside, ceiling, standard and facilities) bulbs were damaged or missing - a minor blemish that, I'm sure, will be fixed soon. We enjoyed every minute there as a party of two in December/January, even more so, as the owner is a friendly and extremely helpful person who we talked to on the phone only. A very recommendable place to spend your holidays.

Reading all information and reviews our expectations were high.. Fortunately they were met! We loved the never ending views over the Galway Bay. You can see every change in the weather coming long before you experience it yourselve. This house is a lovely point to start exploring the Burren and the magnificent coast of County Clare. There is so much to discover. The house itself is nice, spacious and comfortable. It sleeps 7 but the kitchen equipment is not suitable for that amount of people. It could do with some completion.

Our wedding anniversary falls on New Year's Eve and so it has always been difficult to just celebrate the anniversary without year end celebrations overtaking. so this year as it was out 30th we were determined to do something special and alone!! This cottage was everything we were looking for: Great location, remote, superb facilities, unique, sea views and fantastic walks. Dan and Rosie, the landlords, could not have been more helpful - although we did not meet them, communications by email, text and phone were fast and most helpful. We travelled locally and made the most of Gus O'Connors pub in in Doolin which had fantastic traditional Irish music and dancing with superb food and hospitality. A day's shopping in Galway was a welcome experience compared with the repetitive multiple retailers normally found in cities. The house is very well appointed and a great deal of thought has gone into providing all the little extras that are so often missing in holiday lets. We are definitely going back which is the best endorsement we can offer
