We had a brilliant weekend stay here, would highly recommend.. The house is beautiful in a fantastic location with wonderful views. There is plenty of space for everyone, lovely rustic features with all the mod cons. Very personal touch with check in. We hope to come back again at some point!

Beautiful setting with walks straight out of the door.. Cottage was comfortable and well-equipped although the addition of some sharp knives or a knife sharpener would be good. Management staff were helpful and responsive. The hot tub was very popular!

Such a lovely start to 2019 for eight work colleagues - super chilled.. The house was so spacious and yet very homely and the hot tub was fabulous. Amazingly kitted out kitchen with everything you could need. Comfy beds and fabulous showers. Ideally placed for walks, tried the circular walk from Little Salkeld, 5 miles, was just enough. Sunday lunch at The George and Dragon, Clifton was divine. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future

Accomodation exceeded expectations.. Lovely venue in a beautiful location. Private, clean and very spacious for a large group. Only drawback was no access to the central heating. The heating didn’t appear to come on during the day so it was cold and we were unable to access boiler/thermostat to adjust. Sykes cottages wouldn’t allow to take out accidental damage cover on the day of the booking, even though it was well before our check in time.

Great cottage in a stunning location, lots of wildlife and nice big garden for the dogs.. Lovely comfortable bedrooms. Unfortunately let down by some of the communal space, entertainment systems and NO WIFI!! We were 6 adults (this property actually sleeps 12). The dining table, although having chairs for 12, wouldn't comfortably seat more than about 8/10 adults. The lounge area was much smaller than expected, with two sofa's and one chair. Anymore than 6 adults in this room, would have started to feel very cosy..... (also soft furnishing were starting to look and feel very worn - rip in one seat and pet scratches on sofa uprights). The TV is quite dated and the sound kept going up and down throughout, making it very hard to hear programmes and the scart lead from TV to DVD was obviously very old and meant we had to watch our DVD's in black and white, as couldn't get colour on the TV. The property states it has WiFi - it doesn't (born out by other guests comments in visitors book and also staff member who confirmed we'd be really lucky to get it, they've been saying they are going to sort it for about 2 years now!) Laptops logged into router - but no internet connection! We wouldn't have booked this property if we had known there was no WiFi. If you advertise it, it should be provided! Two of our party are self employed and need to be connected at the start and end of each day! This meant instead of walking as a group as planned, two had to go and sit in MacDonalds in Penrith to do work during the day! Not what we'd all gone away for!! And when they did go back to the cottage, it was cold as guests don't seem to have any control over the heating, which was set to go off during the day and not come on until approx. 5pm. Hot tub was lovely, but again guests couldn't control the heat of the water. We have stayed in lots of cottages over the last eight years, this being the most expensive. If the above things were sorted, we would definitely return, as actual house and location was amazing, and we had a good time, despite the above complaints!

The cottage is very remote and private.. it is a very large property and had loads of room for everyone. The Bedrooms are very spacious and beds massive and very comfortable. We found the Wi-Fi worked perfectly and we was all connected to it. The kitchen had all of the pans, trays and utensils we needed. The biscuits, tea, coffee, milk and jams were a lovely addition to arrive to. The garden is very large and enclosed securely for the dog and children to run around in and the hot tub was massive, we all showered every time before we went in the hot tub but still found towards the end of the week it was getting a bit murky, could maybe do to put some chemicals in midway through a weeks stay to prevent this. The house is like a maze and we kept getting lost in and out of all of the doors :-) We had an issue with the heating as the weather turned very cold while we was there but they came and adjusted the heating and hot water within 15 minutes which was excellent service. we had some lovely walks but found we had to drive to the next village to start the walk as the roads leading to the cottage are about 2 miles long, but that was fine as we started and ended at the pub. The only other issue we had was the TV in the dining room wasn't working at all, not a massive issue but would have been nice to have the news on while we had breakfast. Also the showers trays didn't clear as quickly as would have liked and often made them overflow, these could do with looking at and maybe cleaning clearing but apart from that we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, perfect week away, perfect location and we had the perfect weather.

Fabulous cottage in a lovely secluded location! Huge property with modern and clean bedrooms and bathrooms, great well equipped kitchen, and so cosy in the living room with the log fire, especially welcome in the colder months! Hot tub is fabulous, view out the back is amazing. The property is very remote and there was some confusion trying to find it but we got there in the end! Would be helpful if the website showed the actual property address rather than the check in address (which is a different building in the next village). If we'd have the proper address when we booked we would have had the right address to give Sainsbury's so we wouldn't have had to go out and find the delivery van haha! Overall a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Really all round excellent stay.. Hot tub was awesome and there were even towel robes provided! Comfy beds, very spacious, and everything we needed in the kitchen to cook a variety of tasty meals. My one complaint is that things were a little lacking on the technological side of things - the WiFi signal was very weak and patchy and often did not work. Eventually we had to stop using it and use our mobile data. Also, the TV in the main living room does not have an HDMI port which means we could not connect it to our computers / games consoles. I realize this is a pretty niche requirement though (sorry, we're nerds!), and apart from this everything was fantastic and we could not recommend it more. :)

The house was really nice and clean.. There was a hot tub and we all had bath robes which was an added bonus. The outside lights didn't work for the first day but we rang the man in charge of the building and he came round the next day to fix them for us which was great. Would definitely recommend, and we will be booking again.

There were many thoughtful touches which made our stay more comfortable, such as the bathrobes and towels, fresh milk in the fridge and jams and biscuits.. The property was very spacious with plenty of space for 12 people. The only criticism was that the downstairs shower had a manky shower head and no lock meaning we only really had 2 bathrooms for 12 people; and the hot water ran out a couple of times but this was easily remedied by us staggering our showers through the day. Would definitely return!

This is a beautiful cottage, perfect for our large family gathering.. The hot tub was an absolute hit with the youngest (1 yr old) to the oldest (60 yr old) The lovely touches such as the free gift of a selection of jams and biscuits was much appreciated. Our only criticism would be that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you!
