Ty Rhys description

Holiday home
Ty Rhys is a charming mid-terrace cottage in the village of Aberporth on the Cardigan coastline. The cottage can sleep four people in two bedrooms which are a king-size double and a twin as well as a family wet room. The rest of the cottage is made up of an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. To the outside is off road parking for one car and a rear patio garden with access to shared lawned grounds. Set in a stunning location, Ty Rhys is a great place for a family holiday at any time of the year.

Area
Aberporth is a small town that sits on the edge of Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, renowned for it's beaches that attract visitors, all year round. There are two beaches between the rocky headlands of Trecregyn and Fathgarreg, separated by a smaller rocky outcrop. Uniquely, at low tide they interlink, but at high tide, they create individual beaches and create great rock pools for the children to play in and explore.

Region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Amenities
Electric panel heaters. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, TV with Freeview. DVD player, books & games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Lovely cottage reasonably well equipped is sadly let down by the tiny wet room. This stayed true to its name and was permanently wet from first use of the shower. The kitchen is tiny but useable and there are no instructions as to how to use the appliances.the cottage is in the grounds of a hotel which is being refurbished and the general surroundings are sadly neglected. There is no wifi. Next door neighbours are lovely and very friendly and aberporth is pleasant. I would not recommend this as a family let and would certainly not return to this particular property

The location is really good, the beautiful beaches and shops are just a short drive away and the location is really quiet. The house itself was small but cosy, a good size for the week. But the simple kitchen was good if you only eat-in occasionally and the wetroom was unique - the loo got very wet when using the shower. Would recommend to small family and couples who like exploring the wilder parts of wales.

The cottage is in a good location and was very clean and well kept.. However there were a few problems. The wet room was so small that when taking a shower, everything - toilet, wash basin, floor etc - got wet! The lighting in the main room was very poor which meant that after dark you couldn't read in the room or see what you were eating if you served a meal late. We were disappointed to find there was no tea pot or cafetiere in the property. These are not the sort of things one brings on holiday or wants to buy while there. There were also no egg cups or milk jugs. And there was a lack of ordinary things which are normally left is self-catering premises - tin foil, cling film, salt & pepper. There was only one toilet roll. And there was no oven glove. It was a shame to slightly spoil the experience for the sake of a little thought.

Lovely cottage in lovely location, walls could do with a freshen up of paint, .... Lovely cottage in lovely location, walls could do with a freshen up of paint, little things missing like egg cups, no cushions for comfort on sofa, basic cereal bowls for everything whether it be cereal, soup or dessert, 2 mugs had coffee residue in them, dinner plate and mug chipped, bedding on double bed tired,

Had a great stay at Ty Rhys.. Lovely contemporary cottage with a full size double bed, an awesome fold out sofa for relaxing and a well equipped kitchen. Unfortunately the oven wasn't operational but we got by with the microwave and hob. Two fantastic neighbours, David and Linda, who made us very welcome. A reliable broadband connection would be great but if you get good weather you won't need it. Plenty of walks with the dogs who also has a great break.

Fantastic cottage.. Owner contacted beforehand to confirm arrangements. Essentials inc milk thoughtfully provided (much appreciated). Extremely comfortable beds, and tastefully decorated throughout. The site itself was so unique, I don't think we'll ever encounter anything quite like it again. Loads of fab walks for the dogs, wildlife abundant. Aberporth beach less than 5 mins drive away. The coastline is stunning with lots of lovely beaches within a short distance. Dolphin spotting boat trips from New Quay reasonably priced. Would definitely return.

I feel that it should have been noted on the listing that some of the surrounding buildings where derelict and one looked like a building site.. Me and my wife had to spend a couple of hours cleaning the kitchen plates, utensils, cutlery etc because they had bits of food on them all. We did not cook much in the the oven due to cleanliness. One good thing is that the surrounding area is lovely.

We have stayed in our fair share of holiday cottages but this has to be by far the best very well equipped very clean and comfortable and the permanent family next door are so sweet made our holiday like home from home also the views from the old hotel was stunning we also seen some birds of pray also I believe the old hotel adds a bit of caricter to the place very peaceful and very safe you could go out leaving your back door open and no one would take a thing in fact I think Linda from next door would keep gard till you came home

We had a lovely time,.. Aberporth is a good base to explore the coastline of Cardigan Bay. New Quay is a lovely harbour town just 25 mins down the road, where you can take a boat trip to go and see the dolphins that frequent the coastline. Mr Cope Newcastle-under-Lyme

Great cottage and the location is brilliant for walks and the beach.. The only downfall is the old hotel on the surrounding area, this looks like it's been left to rot away and is causing issues with the area. If the whole area was maintained to the high standards I'm sure it used to have then this would be an outstanding location. Regardless of this I will definitely be booking this cottage again. There's a pub not too far away called the ship which children and dogs are welcome. The food there was also really nice.

Internal decor was moden and beautiful.. Beds very comfortable. Only 2 draw-backs: (1) No toilet upstairs, and if you get up in the middle of the night needing toilet you had to go down stairs. Not good for people with weak bladder. (2) As you enter into the drive-way, the property on the left is a building sight. The grass was pretty high. Other wise very quite (no kids around yet!).
