December 2018
The cottage looked so much better in reality.. It was warm and cozy and a fabulous setting. Everything you wanted was there. Great walking close at hand. Even the dogs enjoyed it. Couldn't fault the cottage at all

The cottage was in lovely location quiet but very dirty and dingy with old curtains falling off rail cobwebs everywhere even in all lamp shades kltchen cupboards windows bedrooms massive spiders everywhere had to clean all plates and cups and cutlery before we could use as still residue on and some very greasy we didn't mind the quint Ness but it should have been clean.. .couldnt find vacume cleaner as one in bedroom not working when we did it was hidden away in small cupboard even had to empty that as it was full so not lifting dirt shower needs to be modernised to electric one as after one had used it went cold in fact the whole cottage could do with face lift replace old tatty plastic flowers in cobwebby vases extra but on plus side garden great for dog would have been good if grass cut as picking up poo hard at times in the long grass birds fantastic had great time watching them also dog watching resident squirrels good but not a patch on driftwood in Harlech hopefully get good one near Bala for our next break

A beautiful quiet cottage with the most spectacular views! Very comfy and had all the facilities we needed. Our dog loved the garden. Perfectly placed for the hills, beaches and everything in between. We were sad to leave!

Ty Cerrig is a delightful holiday cottage.. Perhaps not everyone's choice but we loved the peace and quiet of the cottage and just what we wanted. Sue and John Sept 18

Cosy quaint cottage, very quiet and secluded! Would recommend if someone was hoping for a quiet holiday away from busy areas, but still close enough to all the close holiday attractions.
Ms Backwell
June 2018
We really enjoyed our stay at Ty Cerrig, it's a fabulous location if you want to be away from it all.. We loved the feel of the cottage and the dogs loved the garden. It was very well equipped except there was no soap or anything to wash up with and only a tiny bit of toilet paper. We would have appreciated these basics being provided. But that wouldn't put us off coming back. Overall it was really lovely.

We had a lovely stay at the character filled cottage in Corwen. The location is breathtaking and the garden is beautifully maintained. The hosts were very friendly and the cottage well loved and maintained. It helped having detailed directions. We would highly recommend this cottage.
Mrs Arnold
April 2018
Lovely, warm cottage with well-appointed kitchen.. Comfy bed - I slept really well. Narrow country lane up to the property is not for the faint-hearted but a small price to pay for a quiet secluded location! Mobile reception could be better - would definately benefit from wifi (expected as standard these days).
Mr Willis
November 2017
Ty Cerrig is a lovely warm cosy cottage, made even more so by the additional woodburner.. Because of the location {surrounded by trees}, there's not much in the way of views from the windows, but a short walk along the track will give you views across the sea and a bit further 'round the corner' will reveal a most amazing view of mountains. Standing here on a clear, cloudless night, there's zero light pollution and you see a fantastic view of the night sky. Everything in the cottage has been really thought about and infact, is better equipt than my own home!
Ms Asby
August 2017
Beautiful cottage in wonderful location.. We had a really lovely week able to walk to the mountains or sea. The cottage is really well equipped and comfortable.
Mrs Futter
October 2016
The property was much nicer than we expected.. It had all the facilities we required. It was beautiful and peaceful. We (myself, husband, 12 year old daughter and our dog). If you are looking for a relaxing breakaway from everything then this is the perfect place to stay.

September 2016
A fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. Great to get away from the hustle and bustle. Well equiped and comfortable and cosy. A narrow lane leads up to the property but we didn't encounter any problems. All rooms are spacious and the outside garden is great for alfresco eating. Your close to all ameneties but far enough away to feel detached from the hustle and bustle. In conclusion a 5* cottage in a 5* location.
Mrs Taylor
May 2016
Ty Cerrig is a wonderful old cottage of great character. Comfortable, surprisingly spacious and well equipped. Good walks from the door and on nearby beaches. Enclosed garden perfect for the dog and for barbecues on warm sunny evenings.
Miss Ridger

The cottage is lovely and homely. We had a relaxing time and the log burner made the evenings really cosy.

August 2015
This was our second time spent at Ty Cerrig. I love this little cottage, if I won the lottery I'd give the owners a price they couldn't refuse and buy it! It's so comfy and in a beautiful location. I took my granddaughter for the first time and she loved it too. She insisted that it was a hobbit house and there were fairies in the garden. One night we lay out in the garden and watched the blue moon and millions of stars, it was magical. Memories were made there.
Mr Holland
June 2015
A lovely, quaint old time cottage, it was comfy and cosy. There was plenty of light through the large windows. The garden was very spacious and well maintained, our dog has never been happier as we only have a small back yard at home. A great cottage where we will return again.
Mr Allen
November 2014
Excellent cottage in beautiful surroundings with many things to do at a stones throw.
Mr Clark
September 2014
We liked the seclusion of the cottage being away from the road and not too near neighbours, the cottage itself being very cosy and homely. Also being near the beach/country side in a beautiful comfortable cottage.
Mr Spears
May 2014
The location is very convenient for a very beautiful part of Wales. The property is old but for us this added to its charm. It is very well furnished and very comfy and cosy inside. it is bigger than the photos suggested! It's situation is delightful - the sound of birdsong is the loudest thing you hear!! One of our best ever holidays Thanks!!
Ms Barlow
November 2013
Beautiful and peaceful location. Cottage stunning and full of character. Large garden. Solid fuel burner in lounge. It was everything we hoped for in a traditional rural Welsh cottage.
November 2013
We have just spent a week relaxing at Ty Cerrig and loved every minute. The scenery of the area was stunning, from empty beaches to autumn coloured forests and majestic mountains! Not to mention castles, waterfalls and steam trains - what more could you need? The cottage was cosy, comfortable and well equipped, with super walks literally on the doorstep. We would definitely return!
October 2013
Comfy cottage with fabulous views from the dog friendly enclosed garden. Close to many attractions and beaches. We found the walk to the pub quite steep on the way home and we are quite keen walkers! But if you want peace and quiet this is a lovely place to stay.
Mr Bentley
September 2013

So relaxing, loved the wood burner. And how quiet it was. Will be going again, my parents will be joining us next time.
Mr Bertram
October 2012
The peace and quiet and abundance of wildlife.
Mr Holland
September 2012
The cosiness of the accommodation and the daily wild life visits from squirrels and variety of birds. One squirrel was cheeky enough to sneak through the French windows to pinch nuts. These animal antics made the holiday very special.
Mr Clark
September 2012
The cottage was absolutely perfect, very homely, everything we needed. Excellent garden for our dog, enclosed as described. The photos and description did not do it justice. We will be re-booking again for next year, and taking our grandsons. Neighbour very friendly. Everything around us - countryside, beaches etc.
September 2012
A very nice cottage set on a hill surrounded by woods and great walks right from the front door. The cottage was ideal base for seeing most of north Wales it was comfortable and fairly well equipped but might be a bit tight at meal times if you had more than 3 people in the group. The only thing we did not like was the hand written notices all round the cottage no need for them and very unprofessional. Down in the village the Victoria pup offers good value tasty meals and friendly staff.
Mrs Crampton
July 2012
The property was in a lovely location and the cottage itself was full of character. Loved it!
Mrs Baker
June 2012
Loved the tranquility, so relaxing but there is plenty to do near by should you wish.

June 2012
Peaceful location and comfortable cottage.
June 2012
My husband and I visited Ty Cerrig for our wedding anniversary/ my birthday in April. Previous reviews for this cottage were very good, and the fact it was reasonably priced and pet friendly influenced our decision ( the picture in Sykes brochure didn't do it justice)The access to this cottage is via a very steep and narrow lane, but don't be put off by this as there is relatively little traffic usage. The cottage itself although not luxurious was lovely and comfortable. A little low on headroom in places, but that just added to the character. The different levels would make it unsuitable for disabled use. This cottage is all about the position. Glorious mountain views to the back and sea views to the front, the outside space is fantastic. There are a number of walks all around the cottage, making it a great place for exploring. Within a short driving distance are several dog friendly beaches. The village of Llanbedr is a mile walk from the cottage. Not much in the way of shops, but boasts a pub that does excellent bar meals and a carvery. The village butcher has beautiful reasonably priced Welsh meat for the barbecue. If you are looking for peace and quiet, where the only sounds you hear are birdsong then this is the cottage for you. (we've booked another week in September!!)
June 2012
This was our second stay at Ty Cerrig and on both occasions booking the cottage was simple and straightforward, made easier by friendly staff. Ty Cerrig is ideal for our needs although the large settee in the lounge is getting a bit tired, the rest of the cottage is well appointed. The log-burning stove was most welcome at nights. The enclosed garden is ideal for our dog and there are plenty of local walks for his exercise. We know the area very well, there are take-aways in Harlech and the local pub has a good extensive menu. I think the most important factor for me is the peace and quiet the location offers, surrounded by fabulous countryside
Mr John
November 2011
The cottage was a beautiful reflection of the countryside it sits within. It had a charm that instantly made it feel like a home and not a generic holiday.
Mr Robins
September 2011
We like peace and quiet and this was perfect.
September 2011
This is a wonderfull and very peacefull location. We enjoyed our week there as a base to explore North Wales, there is to much to see in 1 week. I drove over 800 miles to see some of the wondrefull sights. The Cottage was very adequate for our needs, although it was 30c and beautifully sunshine during the day !! But it was very cold inside at night !!(Solid Slate walls) There are lot of heaters in the cottage, and we had to use some of them. (soft southerners) Some of the cottage needs to be updated. But it is very good value, and we loved it. Thank you for a wonderfull stay.
Mr Williams

The quietness and privacy of the place.
Mrs Holland
June 2011
The thing we both liked most was the different birds that we saw, and being visited by the squirrels and rabbits, to sit at night and watch them was quite relaxing. It was lovely and quiet, it felt like we were the only people around.
Ms Hutson-Lumb
June 2011
A lovely cottage providing a peaceful base with access to good walking from the door and a short drive to beaches. A relaxing place to be. We would certainly recommend the cottage to friends and if going to the same area again it would be first choice.
Miss Redwood
April 2011
I loved the fact that there were signposted foot paths from the doorstep. It was a real bonus for families with children. Great walk to the waterfalls that we did from the house. Lovely big children's bedroom and great comfy living room that the photos didn't do justice to. Exceptionally quiet and away from it all, despite being near to the beach and amenities.
Miss Raddings
December 2010
Loved this cottage, the views and cottage itself were beautiful, a lovely place to get away from it all.
Mr Powner
November 2010
I loved the seclusion and peaceful setting of the cottage. I loved the holiday so much I didn't want to return home. Excellent cottage.
Mr Rice
November 2010
Superb location for a peaceful weekend away. Fantastic scenery and plenty of walks and attractions nearby.
Mrs Done
October 2010
We found the cottage was quirky, with the low level doorway and rooms on different levels and it's own water supply. Lovely, quaint and in a beautiful quiet spot - plenty of walks from the doorstep. The dogs loved the garden, and all the surrounding long sandy beaches. Pretty central for sight-seeing around the Llyn Peninsula or Barmouth Bay. We had a good time and the weather was kind to us. Intend to come back again.
Miss Bailey
September 2010
The cottage was charming and quirky, the living room was just lovely. The beaches were fantastic particularly Harlech and Shell Island.
Mr Walker
August 2010
We loved the situation of the property, very quiet, the local pubs and village shop were very friendly. The welcome pack was very informative, and the walking book inside gave us some other walks that we wouldn't of found. The dog loved it, and she slept soundly every night as we did. We did manage to eat outside a couple of evenings, beautiful. ' Time stands still here'. No clocks required.
Mrs Baker
July 2010
Had a wonderful time in such a lovely setting.
Mrs Rabone
April 2010
The setting was beautiful, the cottage outstanding. The pictures don't give this cottage justice. The kitchen and bathroom were well setup. The shower was very powerful. The cottage has it's own water source, which I found delightful. The two bedrooms were large and well lit. Plenty of space to put clothing etc. Everything was meticulously clean. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely book this cottage again next year.
Ms Dunlea-Rowe
April 2010
The property was in a beautiful location with lovely scenery all round and walks straight from the door. The local village was friendly and it was a good location for exploring both the coastline and Snowdonia.
Mr Farragher
April 2010

Mrs Clark
February 2010
A beautiful character cottage in a wonderful area with a lovely atmosphere. Really enjoyed the garden and the fabulous view. Our dog had a great time on the huge beaches.
Mr Wright
February 2010
We loved the location of this cottage, especially the tranquility of the Welsh mountains. The cottage itself was an amazing building with a quirkiness that you don't find everyday any more.
December 2009
This cottage is exactly what we like - 'Get away from it all'! The cottage offers plenty of room for the family and is very quaint. The open fire and rocking chair provided lovely and calm evenings, the relaxing break that we needed. There are plenty of walks around the cottage for our four legged friends and beautiful horses to have a chat to in one of the fields near by. The owners of the cottage are extremely helpful and very friendly with all the local knowledge you need. We will be going again soon!!
Mrs Gray
October 2009
The location of this holiday is by far the best I have stayed in - total relaxation!
Mr Holman
September 2009
The location of the cottage was great. The cottage itself was perfect as you can walk from the door and the beach is only 10 minutes away. Brilliant.
Dr Ditmar
September 2009
We had a wonderful short break in this very nice 'family cottage'. Location of the cottage is superb; quiet, rural and with easy access to both the coast and beautiful Snowdonia. Thank you all!
Mr Thackray
July 2009
An overall excellent holiday experience.
Mrs Robinson
June 2009
Position of the cottage was excellent. Village stores and pubs within easy walking distance, though a bit of a climb back up the hill in the very warm weather that we had! Very good walking country. We have had holidays in Southern Snowdonia for the last four years and this is the best cottage that we've stayed in.
