Comfortable, warm and well-appointed cottage with off-road parking in a peaceful village surrounded by sheep fields.. The only improvement that could be made to the holiday cottage would have been the addition of wi-fi (which would have been especially useful at th moment as some of the local tourist information centres were closed or had restricted access due to Covid-19). Surprising (at least to me) range of things to do and places to visit within a 25 mile radius of Nercwys: picturesque villages, bustling market towns (e.g. Mold), cities (Chester), seaside towns (Rhyl, Prestatyn, Colwyn Bay, etc.), loads of countryside walks to suit all abilities, theatres, cinemas, stately homes and gardens, loads of castles ('tho' a lot of them ruins), tourist hotspot (Llangollen, with its steam railway), and even a World Heritage Site at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions, we were still able to find plenty to occupy us throughout our week's stay. Whatever sort of holiday you might want (restful/ activity-packed/ historical/ cultural/ countryside/ beach, etc.) this area seems able to offer something for everyone.

The cottage was absolutely amazing, so clean and cosy and exactly what we needed.. the cottage is in the perfect location as a base for exploring north wales and we had the trip of a lifetime, coming home to the cottage each day and lighting the fire was definitely a highlight for us and our 4 month old baby was so happy and settled there too which is a huge bonus. Thankyou so much!

This was a fantastic place to stay.. When we arrived, the cottage was absolutely spotless and the owners had left gifts for us as they knew we were on our honeymoon. The location was picturesque and serene, but in easy reach of destinations like Chester and Llandudno. We can't recommend Ty Cerrig highly enough.

Lovely little cottage.. The front gate could do with being properly secured for dogs but overall we loved our stay and the little treats left for us.

Fabulous character cottage.. We have had a lovely week here. The property was well presented, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed whilst we stayed. Our children loved this cottage and so did we.

Ty cerrig is a perfect little cottage in the lovely Nercwys village.. We stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas with my partner and 2 year old son. The owners have styled the house perfectly with a very comfortable sitting room with leather sofa and armchair, tv, dining table and log burner. The kitchen is kitted out perfectly to meet any needs and the bedroom upstairs is supremely comfortable with a lovely bathroom attached. Seriously one of the best beds I’ve ever slept in. The owners are highly contactable and lovely helping ensure your stay is perfect. I can’t recommend this little cottage enough and will definitely be staying again.

Beautiful location, stunning views particularly from the bedroom.. One of the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in, duvet lovely quality. Beautiful log burner. Owner thought of everything to start us off on our break from fairy liquid, dishwasher tabs, toilet roll etc. Little touches that really make a difference to your stay. Cottage was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. Hosts very welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Our expectations for Sykes cottages are very high as they have all been very good! This was lovely cottage, which was ideal for us and our dog. We may well come back, but are looking for somewhere different for our next stay. It took a little while to get the cottage warm enough, but the owners explained how to get the wifi up and running and were very friendly.

Really lovely cottage made even more so by the owners leaving us some Welsh cakes & milk.. Even though it does have an enclosed patio area, our dog missed a garden. The only downside for me was there were no handrails on the stairs (as I do have difficulty with stairs) . Would stay here again, if we didn't bring our dog!

Very cozy cottage, lovely surroundings and good value.. For families who wish to be close to nature and proximity to interesting towns around. Will definitely recommend. Much better option than a hotel room.

A great little cottage that had everything we needed.. The log burner provided a lovely atmosphere when back at the cottage after a days walking. The view was fantastic & the sofa in the bedroom was a great spot for soaking up that view. Having parking right in front of the cottage meant it was really easy to come & go with our bags. Being pet friendly was a great bonus for us as we could take our cat with us, which meant we didn’t have to rely on anyone feeding her or leaving in a battery. She spent the whole watching the sheep out of the window but for anyone with a dog too, there were plenty of footpaths right on your doorstop. A thoroughly lovely cottage which we would definitely stay in again.

Cottage itself is lovely, easy to find.. Keep in mind it’s tight on parking and not too friendly neighbour. We were greeted by owners who generously let us check in early and check out late. Cottage has everything you could need however adequate amount of toilet paper (1roll for a family of 4 for 4 days) or dishwasher tablets(only one provided) would save us trip to the shops. Also no washing up liquid or back up of towels. Not for anyone with pet hair dislikes as in search of toy I moved sofa and to my horror we discovered tons of dust and fur. In general in need of deep clean (dust, cobwebs, fur inside of sofa bed). Not big things and we didn’t let it spoil our break.

The owner met us at Ty Cerrig and was extremely helpful, it is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful North Wales countryside,Snowdonia,Llangollen,Betwys, and Rhyl and also handy for Chester.

Ty Cerrig was a lovely house which we called home for a week. It was beautifully furnished, very well equipped and extremely clean. It had a lovely little fireplace that we lit nightly while relaxing in the living room. The view from the second floor windows were lovely and we really enjoyed the quietness of the area. Our hosts were very glorious and made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed the sites of the area, and would highly recommend staying at Ty Cerrig!
