August 2020
Everything exceeded our expectations.. Fully equipped.Lovely and central to best walks and to village.Only downside the water in the shower was not hot enough but compared to everything a small gripe. Love it.
Mr Morris
April 2019
Cottage very nice but more road noise at night than we expected due to aggressive driving around one-way system in Ambleside.. Parking a bit tight for large cars.
Mrs Pasby
March 2019
Lovely cosy cottage in ideal location for many scenic walks.. Enjoyed our stay
Mr Sare

2 Tweenways was excellent accommodation.. It had all the right facilities and was very usefully situated at just the right distance from all the shops. We hope to return.

October 2018
Every thing was as expected from booking the property to arriving.. The owner had done everything to make us feel welcome by supplying milk and coffee etc so that we could have a drink on our arrival.
Mrs Rolfe
July 2018
Put on the listing that towels are not provided.. I don’t mind that towels weren’t provided but because we didn’t know we didn’t bring any and had to purchase some whilst we were there (towels are surprisingly hard to find in Ambleside) if this information had just been provided in the description we would have known to bring some and avoided the inconvenience.

This is the 2nd time we have the cottage, because we love using it! Its just a lovely cosy little cottage. It is close to Ambleside and Lake Windermere. It has its own parking space. So we can leave the car and go walking to Wansfell pike and along to Rydal water. The Waters edge inn is 10 minutes down the road where you can sit by the lake and have can have a drink with a beautiful view. Although we didn't use it it is also very close to the bus route so you can jump on the buses. Its just a good location central to stay. I would love to buy a cottage like this!
Mr Moore
June 2018
Beautiful cottage, very clean, more appliances than we would have expected for a cottage for two.. Well stuated close to Ambleside and only ten minutes walk to Lake. Would definitely stay here again.
Mrs Tagg
May 2018
We really enjoyed our time there, the cottage is well placed for travelling as well as for the village itself .. Having a parking space was a bonus too . The cottage is well laid out for two , and nicely decorated .
Mr Watts
March 2018
A nice comfortable cottage in a good location.. Being on my own I would have liked more channels on the TV. Also on some nights some of the channels that should have been available were listed as no signal! Otherwise I have no other issues.
Mr Humphrey

August 2017
We had a lovely relaxing time in two tweenways.. Everything we needed was provided and it was like a home from home. The cottage owner was lovely, we would definitely stay again.

August 2017
The flat gives you everything two people in The Lakes! It’s 5 mins walk from the town centre... You can have adventure from your door up Loughrigg or Wansfell or the Fairfield Horseshoe. Cooking facilities are limited and there’s no room for bikes as it’s s first floor flat....
Mrs King
June 2017
Ideal position to explore Lake District.. Everything one would need for a great holiday.
Mrs Sloss
February 2016
Great location near to the centre of Ambleside, which was great for going out into town or for dinner at night. Loved the huge bath and rain shower, they were one of the reasons we picked the cottage.
Mrs Loveday
April 2015
A lovely place to stay, the extra additions made it feel like a home, not just a place to stay.
Mr Wray
March 2015
A very comfortable and warm cottage. In a good location in town with good facilities nearby but plenty of short and long walks from the door. The off road parking space is particularly helpful in Ambleside.
Mr Lyons
January 2015
A charming cottage, well situated with easy access to a fantastic range of restaurants and bars. The most appealing feature was the ability to leave the car and be still be able to enjoy hill walking, mountain climbing, water falls and boat trips - so relaxing.

May 2014
We loved the town, the countryside and the general atmosphere. Most importantly Tweenways 2 felt like a real home and not just a place to stay. A lot of thought has been put into providing small pleasures and the local guide provided by the owner was a great help in choosing where to go and where to eat. Full marks!

April 2014
Nice property in a good, convenient location with parking and storage for bikes.

April 2014
We found the cottage to be a comfortable size, warm, clean and nicely decorated with a nice 'feel' about the place. Very useful off street parking space, plenty of storage space and bathroom is a good size. Downside is first no towels supplied which we couldn't understand, seems like a strange austerity move by the owner. Second, you have to get used to the traffic noise right outside the bedroom window. Third, we found the bed to be hard, with noisy springs on one side and overall past it's best. Really hope the owner takes a look at this and invests in a new, more comfortable model.
Mrs Lewis
March 2014
We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and Ambleside. A very good base for walking with plenty of restaurants and shops. The cottage is in an ideal position, few minutes walk from centre of town. Also good amount of information on hand, plenty of books and games.

January 2013
We booked the cottage for Xmas week, having been before we knew the lay out inside and where it was regards shops, pubs, restaurants. It is a comfy cosy warm place and we spent a nice week there, we were inside more than planned due to wet weather and able to enjoy the TV and the radio and warmth. The bathroom has a lovely big shower and a deep bath. One minus side was the traffic noise as on main road but one does get use to it. Ambleside is a good base for walks, busses, car trips with a good variety of pubs, restaurants, shops, Picture houses etcs
Mr Payne
November 2012

July 2012
Above was given a 4 1/2 star hence our booking. The parking and proximity to the town etc are wonderful ,the decor is fine but the furnishings were not up to the standard of the 14 other selfcatering we have used but the bones are there for improvement greatly. In todays modern society with phones, readers and netbooks, ipads etc found this was only place we stayed at didnt have wifi on tap but top marks to the owner she did let us into her site. Also no towels???How many people carry towels on holiday.Never came across no towels before but top marks to the owner-she did lend us a couple.A bit reluctant to recommend till we know furnishings have been upgraded and more comfortable and cleaner.

January 2012
This is a perfect cottage for two. It is surprisingly spacious, with a very well appointed kitchen, comfortable seating, exceptionally large bathroom with plenty of hot water. It is spotlessly clean. The added bonus is the parking space and proximity to ambleside. Wifi would have been the icing on the cake but there were plenty of wifi cafes and pubs in ambleside. The booking procedure and key arrangements were straight forward. We loved it and will be going back later this year
Miss Naylor
November 2011

June 2011
We stayed at Two Tweenways in June 2011. This is a very nice, we equipped little cottage that makes and ideal base to explore Ambleside and Lake Windemere. There is nothing this cottage lacks, it has a huge bathroom with a separate bath and power shower (ideal after a long walk). The Kitchen is very well equiped and even had brandy glasses (you cant even get them in some Pubs!). If there is one downside, it is situated on a busy road (like most hotels/cottages in the lakes) but after a while you get used to the noise of the traffice.
Mr McCarthy
April 2011
