We had a lovely holiday as an extended family group in this very comfortable house in a beautiful location.. A great deal of care had gone into preparing the house for our visit. The kitchen, lounge and dining areas were well appointed and the bedrooms were all spacious and restful. The only slight issues we had with the kitchen were that the normal oven seemed to be a little temperamental and the kitchen working surfaces were a bit limited for a large group - although, as I say, these were minor matters, and the oven was much less of a problem than it could have been because the aga was available, which made the kitchen very cosy and warmed the whole house. We took a dog and she had a wonderful time in the large, secure garden area. We also very much enjoyed using the fire pit (wood kindly provided). We would like to send a special thanks to Heda, who looks after the house, for going above and beyond the call of duty in providing a wonderful sea chest for Captain Mitchell, whose uniform is displayed in the dining room by means of a life-sized mannequin. The children in the party (and some of the adults too!) had lots of fun exploring the contents of the chest, which included games. activities and a log book for them to write about the Captain's adventures. An altogether memorable holiday - we would love to return to Tulchan Lodge at some point in the future.

Set in glorious countryside about a mile down a dirt track so a bit difficult to find. Plenty of downstairs living space and good cooking facilities there were 15 of us. Dining table large enough to seat 16, plenty of cutlery, plates, cups and glasses . There are cabinets of stuffed birds and animals which may not be to everyones liking. We had a top floor double room which was separated by 2 doors from the other 2 twin bed rooms up there. Shower room on that floor - no toiletries provided in there but provided in main bathroom on 2nd floor. Big bath in main bathroom but takes ages to fill. Bed was comfy, room clean and the house was nice and warm. Living room has a log burning fire. Downsides no TV in majority of rooms, TV in kitchen only downstairs. Most of the bedrooms didn't seem to let much light in so quite dark. We had the lights on throughout the house in the main. No washing up liquid was provided, insufficient toilet rolls provided for number of guests and not enough dishwasher tablets. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for these points. From here you are about 10 miles from Perth City Centre. Deanston distillary is worth a visit and tour which is an hour drive away.

Great location, beautiful house, we were a large family gathering, occupied all bedrooms which were all bigger than expected.. Well furnished, sufficient towels, good bathrooms, enough seating and dining facilities to make cooking a full Christmas dinner possible. Would benefit from info on local walks. The road access to Lodge not as bad as expected though a few bags of gravel would deal with most deeper potholes. Lodge has no ground floor bedrooms so those with mobility problems have to climb stairs. The utility room has a step down which several people missed so signage required as it’s a trip hazard. We had 4 over 60 so this is a consideration when travelling together.

Had a fantastic weekend away.. Felt really like a home from home. Had everything we needed only slight critisism was lack of work space in the kitchen when trying to prep a meal for 15. Would love to come back in the summer.

Tulcan Lodge was a good size and in a beautiful location.. There was a beautiful comfortable lounge with no TV so everyone stayed in the kitchen which was heated by an Aga stove and the lounge was only used once. The dining room was huge but overhead lights did not work so it was never used The kitchen was where everyone assembled and was the only downstairs room that was operational. The tumble drier did not work and there was no outside washing line so any washing had to be dried in the over used kitchen. The bedrooms and bath/shower facilities were excellent, and staff were friendly and knew about broken tumble drier. We were out all day every day so we did not spend much time in the lodge. but would have wanted to use the lounge to relax and watch TV if we had been rained in. There was a lovely log fire in the lounge. These are minor disappointments, easily remedied that did not spoil our holiday and it only requires a few adjustments to make Tulcan Lodge a really excellent holiday cottage

I was lucky to be included in a party staying here for a long weekend. The house is wonderful inside and out, and while themed on outdoor sports, it is in practice good for all ages and activities, and anyone loving a beautiful Perthshire glen, with a toasting warm kitchen to retreat to in the evenings. Beautifully peaceful place. There is one other lodge close by, no other house visible within a kilometer ! We used the HUGE kitchen facilities and table for group cooking, and ate next door in the equally huge dining room. There's a fine outdoor seating area around a stone hearth, we had great wood-fires late into the night, super atmosphere (but do bring or collect your own logs !). Hot water, plumbing all worked well. Kitchen was VERY hot because we were advised not to switch off the AGA, and perhaps that detail could be tweaked ? But it was a good opportunity to learn cooking on and in an AGA, alongside the conventional hob. Perth is OK shuttling distance for guests arriving by rail. Our wonderful organiser had a vanload of food delivered by Sainsburys, thereafter it was cook-eat-walk-sleep with a good few drinks in between. A variety of bedroom sizes, great for a mixed party. I'd love to go back !

We were advised the house was available from 3 pm and when we arrived at that time the cleaner was in attendance and we had to hang about for at least an hour before we had access.. The access road could only be described as a mud bath and in your description of the property there were many walks - due to the condition of the road it was almost impossible to walk from the house. Some of the glassware was cracked and had obviously not been inspected so much so that the water jug broke while it was being dried. The cutlery was poor - both in condition and lack of different types. The house could have been cleaner - furniture not dusted and garbage under the beds.

Tulchan lodge was lovely.. It had fantastic views of the mountains. The house was spacious, and well furnished. The manager of the house was excellant and took great care of us. We enjoyed our stay very much. There was plenty to do and enjoy on your doorstep, including a beautiful waterfall to visit. We would recommend this property for your holiday in Glenalmond.

I thought that the advert for Tulchan Lodge was very transparent with lots of picture which was great, and the kitchen was actually larger than what it appeared and of course this is where we spend the majority of our 4 days.. The lodge was very clean and furnished with everything you might need including extra fridges and freezers to cater for a family party. The WiFi did drop frequently however in such a remote location it was actually a good thing when it did happen. The abundance of bathrooms was great and even with a full house there was no issues with hot water, there was also a huge bath for the kids! The parking was ample and the outdoor space was brilliant to walk around in, id love to be there in the summer to use the BBQ area! The master bedroom and adjacent bedrooms are directly above the kitchen and the noise did carry which was annoying, however apart from that the place was fantastic and a real shame to have to leave. The owner/ estate manager even left us a hamper and heated the place for our arrival which was a really nice touch, cant recommend this place highly enough.
