Property Description

Holiday home
The owners have taken great pride in restoring this Grade 2 listed Georgian house to provide two luxury apartments in Beaumaris. The renovation has followed the original features in a sympathetic way, moulding replicated, brick and stone walls exposed, floorboards cleaned, sanded and polished. Superb furnishings have been specially sourced from around the country to complete this stunning, classic house. The owners want you to feel relaxed during your stay and for you to feel comfortable enough to kick off your shoes and chill out. The modern and well-equipped kitchen has a double oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The dining table and chairs seat eight. The sitting room has lovely seating areas with window seats in the gorgeous bay windows with views of the Strait. There are comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove and a SMART TV. The washing machine is housed in the boiler room. There are four bedrooms. The first is a double with king size bed, a decorative fireplace and window seat. The second double has a king size bed and window seat, and the third double a double size bed and window seat. The forth room is a twin bedroom with two single beds, decorative fireplace and window seat. On the first floor there is a bathroom with shower, double ended bath, wash hand basin and a separate loo. On the second floor there is a shower room with large shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. There is a shared paved courtyard with a bench to the front of the property. As with most houses in Beaumaris there is no private parking. The Green parking is very close by and you can purchase daily or weekly tickets. "Fabulous and stylish this gorgeous apartment is just a short stroll from the lovely seafront." The beach and pier, which is popular for crabbing and fishing, is just a short stroll away. You will also find coffee shops, ice cream parlours, individual shops and galleries, the historic moated Castle, Gaol and Courthouse in town. You will find everyone friendly with a selection of bars, pubs and restaurants nearby. We can recommend the local bakery for a fine loaf of bread, delicious pies and pasties and, of course, delicious cakes. Tri Raglan Mawr is on the first and second floor. Tri Raglan Bach, on the ground floor, sleeping 3 + 1, is a great addition if your party is more than 8 or for those who are not keen on stairs.

Area
Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

Absolutely beautiful location. Views from front bedrooms and living room amazing. Check in and instructions very easy and nice touch to leave the bara brith and milk. Disappointed with response from Sykes when we called them. Given we are only at the end of February I would have expected logs/kindling, especially since one of the included features to advertise the property is the log burner. Heating is an absolute conundrum. None of the radiators have been on since we arrived and no instructions as to how to use the nest. No logs left despite saying on the very limited information left that there should be. When I rang Sykes they said “we only supply until February”. From my knowledge we are still in February! When I challenged her about it she said it was “up until February “. She promised to call back and I am still waiting for the call. I’m not sure who has made this decision but am I not right in thinking we have had really bad weather with three storms recently?! Why would you not supply logs? And if you don’t this needs to be made a lot clearer in the description - guests expected to provide fuel to heat the place is not necessarily appropriate. Very very nice apartment but need more attention to detail. Previous reviews have talked about missing locks etc. Main bedroom the door handle fell off in my hand. The only way to open and close is with the coat hook. No locks on downstairs toilet or bathroom. Second front bedroom has a lamp at the side, but there is no facility to plug this in as the socket is entirely different. Are these things not checked by Sykes/cleaner/handyman????!!! I would have discussed over the phone but she didn’t call back. Can I make a few suggestions 1. Please fall in line with other Airbnb/ company establishments and provide logs, especially in the winter months!!! 2. A detailed itinerary with how to work the tv and heating would be hugely helpful. We had to call the owners twice to help 3. Look at kitchen door lights, which continued to flicker. 4. The mobile attached to the info is incorrect. You may wish to look at this

This house is in a great location and the views from windows at the front of the house are beautiful. The living room is very comfortable and has lots of nice seats to enjoy the view. The kitchen is very well equipped. The layout of the property is not ideal for families or groups as there is only one bathroom on the second floor where the four bedrooms are. The second bathroom is on the first floor were the living area is. The bathroom doors don't lock ! The house is very well presented but would benefit from some ornaments, cushions and rugs being removed which may help the cleaners as there were some small issues with general cleaning. There are rugs and loose stair carpets which are trip hazards. Overall this is a very nice property and we had a lovely break.

Lovely location near the pier, places to eat & attractions. Very well equipped especially the kitchen, but needs a more suitable place for the microwave, not in a cupboard. The upper appartment has no outside seating area though the review says there is an outside area at the front NOT, unless you want to sit amongst the unemptied bins & the scaffolding 2 doors away. The bins were full for over a week & the sea gulls burst the waste bags, we had to wash the debris away & scrub the front of the house, not what we wanted to do on our holiday. Owners sort it out!!
