A week here has been completely relaxing, a home from home. Cosy and comfortable with outstanding views. The cottage is modern without losing its charm. Deer can be seen at various times of the day running from the woods across the road, we got used to waiting for them each day, we also saw a stoat in the garden. A great place from which to explore the Cairngorms, take local walks and even take a trip to Chanonry point to see the dolphins. Brilliant

Just had the most wonderful 5 day break in this beautiful, well equipped, comfortable cottage. The perfect 'home from home'. We were so delighted on arrival to see a very well kept property, spotlessley clean and cosy. Jennifer, the owner, was very accommodating and friendly and could be contacted at anytime. My partner and son both had a terrific time exploring the area and we made visits to Inverness, Aviemore and even the Cairngorm mountains. Loch Morlich is also a must see. The small village of Carrbridge is only 10 mins away where the Landmark Adventure Park awaits promising a fantastic family day out. Also noteworthy is a visit to the reindeer centre outside Aviemore . All in all a wonderful holiday and Tombae cottage was a very welcome retreat. Would definately return.

A lovely family cottage located on a farm property.. Warm & cosy, nicely appointed with a great kitchen. Nice view of sheep and hills. We did see some deer on several mornings. Very clean & comfortable house. Our 2 teenagers enjoyed their stay and so did we. it was great to come home to Tombae at the end of the day and put our feet up.

The cottage is ideally situated for visiting different places such as Aviemore and walking in the hills and the lovely lochs. The cottage is very comortable and has all the amenities one would require for a family holiday. The views from the cottage, even on a dull day are beautiful. I would recommend this cottage as a fantastic retreat or action packed holiday. I would certainly consider returning. Jennifer the owner is readily available for any information about good places for walks etc.

I had read a couple of negative reviews so was slightly concerned. There was absolutely no need whatsoever as we found the cottage excellent. Everything worked and it was spotless. Perfect, peaceful and a beautiful location. The cottage had everything we needed for a lovely highland holiday. We self cater quite a bit and this cottage more than compared with other rentals we have stayed in. It was well equipped and the lay out suited us really well with a large open plan kitchen/diner. We look forward to a return visit in 2019.

We had a lovely holiday.. The cottage is very comfortable and even if the weather was bad it was a pleasure if we had to stay in, we could enjoy the comfort of the log fire and still enjoy the view.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying in this lovely place. Unlike a recent reviewer we have nothing negative to say about this holiday cottage. We arrived late Saturday afternoon and because the sun had been shining on the cottage all day it was very hot inside so the first thing we did was open ALL the windows without any problem. We found that all of the appliances we used during our stay were in good working order and the cottage was spotlessly clean. We particularly love the fact that the cottage is so peaceful and quiet yet is situated only a short distance from a number of little villages. We would not hesitate in returning to this cottage for another weeks holiday.

This cottage was more than just disappointing.. When we first arrived we found no more than 5 mugs/cups in the kitchen (the cottage was for 5 people). All 5 of the mugs were dirty - two were furry on the inside with mould. We found plates and bowls in the same state. Later it transpired that the dishwasher had no salt and no rinse aid in it, and none was provided. Whether that was the root cause or not, the dishwasher did not wash anything properly during our entire stay. The microwave did not cook or even heat food either. So two major appliances were broken. The main fridge was also broken, so we had a second fridge in the middle of the kitchen when we arrived. None of the windows opened, being stuck together on old paint - we experienced wonderful warm sunny weather every day of our stay, so this was unacceptable. As the toilet window did not open, we had been left with an aerosol of air freshener instead - the aerosol was just an empty can. There was no ice tray, no tablecloth, and we were supplied with towels for only 3 people, when we had paid for a cottage which slept 5. We will never use your services again. Please DO publish this account - you failed to publish one recently which said more or less the same things as we have said here (broken equipment, dirty cottage). That one was published on tripadvisor by the clients when you refused to publish it. We will do the same unless you publish both theirs and ours. It is not fair to withhold valid complaints.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable.. Everything worked and it was well equipped. It is in a lovely situation with far reaching views and it was a pleasure to watch a barn owl hunting over the fields while having breakfast.

This cottage has the three ‘C’ s.. Clean, comfortable and cosy. I had read a recent negative review and was slightly concerned before we arrived. Although all other reviews were very positive. We found the cottage to be excellent. Everything worked and it was beautifully clean. Not sure why anyone could have given this a poor review?? Peace and quiet. Fabulous location. This cottage had everything needed for a perfect highland holiday. We self cater a lot and this cottage more than compared well with others. It was well equipped and the lay out suited us really well with a large social kitchen diner. We are looking forward to returning next year. Great place to stay!!

Tombae is centrally located for hiking in the Cairngrom area, and if the weather is not too good for a nice drive..

This was our second visit to Tombae and indeed we chose to stay in Nethybridge once more because we loved this property so much.. As soon as we walked in, the house felt warm and welcoming. It is tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture and a well-stocked kitchen. There were even tea & coffee containers for our use. The views from all the windows are lovely - looking over fields , the forest, and the mountains in the distance. We had two deer in the field most mornings and saw a hare too. The heating in the house is very efficient - indeed, on some days we had to open the windows to cool down a little. There's a nice seating area in the garden, with a wooden table and chairs, and a barbeque is provided if required. We met the owner of the property when she came to attend to the garden and she was happy to suggest places of interest in the area to visit. We got the impression she wanted us to have a lovely relaxing break which was very easy at Tombae. We hope to be back next year. (For Sykes' information - despite the same surname, we are no relation to the owner of the property!)

Pictures on website did not match the interior or exterior of property. The property needed a good clean inside and out. All small appliances needed replacing. The oven grill did not work. No information on how house appliances worked. No local information giving doctors or emergency information. First time we have arrived and no welcome pack with basic essentials, milk or tea bags!! Fridge shelves broke but were repaired by owner straight away. Disappointed that my review was not put on Sykes cottages who we booked through as everyone should be able to access both good and bad reviews. Was a shame about property as location was ideal.

Just had an amazing weeks stay at this well furnished Cottage. It really was a shame we only had a week, as it was cosy & warm. Loch Garten is only a mile or so away. There is a walk opposite the driveway that will take you through the Abernethy Woods. I took this after it had Snowed which was one highlight of our stay. This is a very popular place to stay going by comments in the Visitors Book from Guests from all over the world. Hopefully we will get a chance to come back again.

The location was all we could have hoped for.. There was a slight hiccup with the keybox having been damaged but the owner texted us and we were able to go to the cottage even sooner than the 3.00 pm time so we could be let in by the cleaning team. The house was very warm and cosy. The owners had even arranged for good weather for the week, too! We will be booking it again for round about the same time next year.

We loved everything about Tombae. It is in a great location for exploring the Cairngorms region. We walked, golfed, went sightseeing, and thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the cottage admiring the view. We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home for two weeks.

Really impressed with Tombae. Ideal base for spending time on Cairngorm Mountain, The Highland Wildlife park and the Whiskey Distilleries along the Spey. Everyone including our 2 year old had a great time. Thank you very much.

Tombae is a beautiful cottage with all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay. The house is decorated to a high standard and has a very homely feel to it. We had a fantastic week over New Year here and we would definitely consider booking Tombae again for a peaceful week away. There is a pullout mattress under the single bed which could be used for a sixth person in your party. Thanks again for a lovely week.
