No . Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage.. Not a great deal nearby in the way of shops or pub. In normal times, not really a problem. But unfortunately, the current environment did spoil it. The lady who let's the cottage left really thoughtful welcome goodies for guests.

I'm a writer so I'm constantly looking for places that combine peace and quiet, seclusion and opportunities for walking.. This delivered, 100%. It's a perfect place.

This cottage exceeded our expectations and was the perfect getaway.. On arrival we were greeted by freshly baked scones, cupcakes and flapjacks with cream, jam and strawberries in the fridge. Not only that but our hosts were incredibly thoughtful and provided milk, bread, wine amongst various hot beverages. The cottage itself was so cosy and comfortable we felt instantly at home. Everything was to an extremely high standard and the location was perfect. There are walks available nearby, which we took advantage of, whilst also not being too far from Hadrians wall, Ullswater and Aira force which is definitely worth a visit. We loved our stay and would definitely visit again.

Wonderful weekend away and this place really topped the weekend off brilliantly! Set right in the middle of the countryside so there is genuine peace and quiet in and around that area. We were greeted to a some fresh brownies, cupcakes, mini hamper and some chocolates set out on the bed which was a really nice touch and set a great impression when we arrived. Facilities were excellent and as we had brought some food in advance the kitchen was fully equiped to deal with a quick and easy meal up to more sophisitcated meals whatever you feel like doing. Even storm Dennis couldn't put a dampner on the weekend and will definetly consider coming here again in future. Highly recommeneded!

Wonderful stay! Cottage was ideal for our weekend getaway. It is a renovated barn to a very high standard. Bed was super comfy. Kitchen is fully kitted out and Lynn the owner was so lovely and welcoming. She had stocked up the cottage with bread, wine, milk, tea, coffee and a few sweet treats which was a delight to see! It was great to not have to do the grocery hunt when we first arrived. Location is great for popular hiking spots and to visit Carlise. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a cosy break from the city!

An absolutely beautiful cottage, perfect in every way. Ideally situated from exploring the Lakes, we had an amazing week and wish we could have stayed much longer. Our hosts, Lynn, Mark and family are lovely. The best cottage we have stayed in, anywhere! Delicious cream tea and cakes on arrival and also bread, wine and other tasty treats. We will definitely be returning. The highlights were a steamboat trip on Ullswater, a drive through Seatoller and Buttermere and visiting Hilltop and Allan Bank. A truly memorable holiday.

An absolute gem in Cumbria, I spent 2 weeks here salmon fishing on the River Eden, and it was very well located.. The owners were very helpful and provided some basic supplies and some other delightful goodies. Already rebooked for next year. Property well located amid delightful countryside close to Penrith, Carlisle, Eden valley and Lakes. I would highly recommend it.

It's a bit remote, but suited us.. You have to travel for everything there are no other amenities in the small hamlet. Only downside was no mobile signal.
