We stayed in the Turnip Barn for my daughters graduation in Durham. It is a beautiful , spacious character barn conversion. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard. All 3 bedrooms are good sizes with smart ensuites. Chris the owner is very generous and helpful including a welcoming bottle of Prosecco. The views are splendid and there are great walks on the doorstep which we all, including our dog, enjoyed and it only takes just under 10 minutes to drive into Durham. Definitely recommend this property.

We booked both The Turnip Barn and The Granary.. Both cottages were fantastic and provided everything we needed for a family celebration. The owners of both cottages added some really lovely special touches to our stay. We will definitely return.

The barn has been renovated to the highest standard. Everything you could possible need is there and it is very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. It was immaculately clean on arrival. There are two pubs within a 10 minute walk and lovely countryside walks. We would definitely return in the future!

A stunning barn conversion, great attention to detail, and spotlessly clean.. Turnip Barn is even better than the pictures portray. Set in stunning countryside, with excellent walks for the dogs. Two brilliant pubs in the village. And Chris Holmes and his family so helpful and welcoming. Can't wait to return.

The Turnip Barn Cottage was absolutely fantastic.. It is gorgeous inside and out. Has the most lovely decor and facilities. Showers and beds are magical. Fabulous welcome pack left for the doggies and hoomans! Owners are brilliant. Made sure we were in safe and sound and checked we were all OK during stay. Essentially went above and beyond. Great if have dogs as the walks that are literally on your doorstep are awesome. We honestly had the best break here. Would recommend this cottage to everyone.

The cottage was lovely and extremely well furnished and we immediately felt at home.. There were lots of little extras which were very welcome including treats for the dog which were unexpected and a lovely touch. Have previously stayed in many 'dog friendly' cottages but this one is by far the best and is truly dog friendly. Location is good for visiting various places. We were part of a large family group and so we had use of the hot tub installed in the property next door. This was an added bonus which we would have missed out on had we been on our own and possibly something which the owners might want to consider adding to The Turnip Barn.

Turnip Barn is by far the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in.. A real home from home. Julie and Chris, the hosts, have thought of every home comfort including an exceptional welcome pack. We all, including two dogs, were made to feel very welcome. Would wholeheartedly recommend!
