Peace and tranquility was the order of the day and 'The Smithy' did not fail us.. Set in a rural, yet accessible location, it was perfect for exploring Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. Recommend Leominster, Ludlow and Church Stretton where one can access the ANOB of the Shropshire Hills. Dog friendly pubs and cafes are a plenty. Thank you Mr and Mrs Alexander for being wonderful hosts, the Damson Gin was a real tonic!

Lovely cosy cottage had everything we needed.. TV appeared not to be picking up any stations told owner who lived next door immediately rectified with new TV. Left you alone even though lived next door so lots of privacy nothing better than waking up to bird song and no sounds of constant traffic. Perfect place to start new year off.

'The Smithy' is a little gem.. Fully equipped, dog friendly, clean and ideally located for truly amazing walks around the area and farther afield. Set in a quiet hamlet it is within easy driving distance of several National Trust properties and larger towns. We could not have had a better place to stay. One tip....take a torch!

The Smithy is a lovely cozy little cottage.. Everything one needs is provided and the owners are next door if there are any problems. We had a lovely few days and would like to return perhaps in the warmer weather. Couldn't fault it!

Normally I would shy away from a property where it is close to owner's home but there was absolutely no problem with this clean, comfortable cottage.. The owners are welcoming & there if you need them but equally respect your privacy. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and the village is a lovely quiet location. Our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves also & this is a great property & area for dogs being made welcome.

Had a fab week at this cottage, unfortunately had to leave a day early due to extreme weather conditions.. There are great walks from the door and a very good forest to walk around and exercise dogs. The cottage is comfortable and clean, the owners are helpful and nice, any problems are easy sorted as they live next door.

We just had a wonderful time exploring the area - lots of lovely places to visit.. The cottage was adorable, the beds and pillows exceptionally comfortable - would certainly re book for a longer period. If we enjoyed it so much in February with not particular good weather then it must be fantastic in Spring/Summer/Autumn! Look forward to returning. P.S. The dogs loved it too.
