Mr Hooper, September 2020

Would have given the property a 10 had the entrance sign been more visible and maybe a pre warning of the entrance as well, but the property itself and the area it was in were superb..

Overall it was a really nice place, and friendly and helpful owners.. We really enjoyed ourselves. Just a few suggestions for the future: Having a really good internet connection is so important these days, especially with the covid-19 pandemic. People want to work from home and when on holiday, and some will rent a place simply to work the whole week, as a break from home. So while we eventually got the internet to work, (the difficulty was that the security password wasn't written down accurately) we weren't sure how reliable it was. I would put some effort in to make sure it is reliable and fast and can then be advertised on the listing as a feature. We had to ask if internet was available when booking - it should be seen as a key feature. A clearer and cleaner sign at the entrance to the farm would make a better initial impression than the current one, and perhaps a few arrows as you near the buildings to direct you to the cottages. We found them OK, but it was a bit of guesswork the first time. But overall a great place to stay

Nice place to stay , but nothing for children to do on site .. Wi-fi very patchy . Beds could be larger in master bedroom .

The Roost is in a beautiful farm location, with amazing views and sunsets! The owners were very warm, welcoming and helpful, answering any questions we had. The Roost is attractive, clean and spacious accommodation, with a lovely shared garden which you can sit out in and enjoy the peaceful surrounds. It’s really well situated for Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Cotswolds villages and National Trust properties as well. The nearest supermarket isn’t far away either. The Roost is a real gem and we would highly recommend it. We’d definitely return!

Excellent location for visiting Cotswolds area or just relaxing around Stratford.. Shame we had to go out and buy some bottled water as the water was cut off at the end of our holiday due to a burst water main nearby.

This lovely little holiday home was everything we wanted it to be, and more.. Very welcoming and perfectly situated, it is close enough to Stratford (barely 10 minutes) to get into town quickly and easily, but far enough away to provide peace and quiet at the end of a busy day sightseeing. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We've been renting holiday cottages for 8 years and The Roost was the cleanest we've ever stayed in! It was comfortable and well appointed, on a working farm and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us, a real country retreat but close to several routes into the Cotswolds. We would definitely stay at there again.

December 2013
Enjoyable stay and very easy to get a bus from Waitrose Store into Stratford Centre parking own car in the Special park and ride Car park at Waitrose £1 all day (Bus Free). Saves all hassle of parking and traffic in Stratford. Much to see and do in Stratford - book seats in Theatre at start of holiday and get reasonable price seats from £15 in best positions. Get tickets from a Centre Tour Bus - very much cheaper to see all Shakespeare houses etc and get your to door as its a hop on hop off service £22.50 inclusive. Do tour of backstage at RSC theatre. Warwick Castle very good too (all day day as a lot to do see and participate in. The only bad aspect of cottage was only one toilet in cottage - easily could be corrected by building a small toilet off lounge (or partition off part of the very large lounge) Great stay and lovely friendly owners well run place.
Mr Roop
August 2013

July 2013
We enjoyed the holiday in Stratford upon Avon having not been there for a number of years. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and welcoming and they treated us like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble for them. On arrival, they had left milk and eggs in the fridge for us and on the Sunday, they asked if we would like a Sunday paper. Everything about the cottage and grounds were first class. We would definitely visit again and would recommend the cottage to friends and family.
Mrs Dennis
