Marsden is a former mill village dominated by charming stone buildings, fantastic scenery and a beautiful canal home to the only professional theatre company to tour by Narrowboat. Marsden offers awards winning restaurants, ancient pubs and a National Trust owned Marsden Moor, a village that has appeared in the TV shows 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'The League of Gentleman'. The village hosts many festivals and events throughout the year including the Marsden Jazz Festival held every October. Marsden is popular among walkers and was awarded Walkers are Welcome status in 2010. The village is just a short drive away from the Peak District National Park and is well worth a visit for you outdoors people.
