The Old School Room is a terraced Grade Ii listed cottage on the owner's working beef farm in the countryside near East Chelborough. The cottage has a ground floor double room and a ground floor shower room, while upstairs is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is off road parking for one car, and a front patio with furniture. The Old School Room is ideally placed for exploring this lovely part of Dorset, with easy access to country walks, market towns, pretty villages and also many of the attractions of Dorset.

East Chelborough is a pretty hamlet on the Dorset/Somerset border, deep in the Dorset countryside. The hamlet is in an area known for its pretty villages, and has plenty in the surrounding area to keep holidaymakers busy. Visit Sutton Bingham reservoir, Montecute House, Dorchester, Sherborne and more.

The cottage was very clean and our host were very welcoming and friendly.. The cottage was in the country and very quiet at night. There were footpaths on our doorstep and others around the area, which we enjoyed walking and exploring. We like cycling and cycle route 26 passes by the cottage which we took advantage of. It was a very relaxing time.

The Old School House was very comfortable, friendly owners and their sweet dogs.. Dorset is a beautiful county, smooth roads, very clean and not much traffic. A wonderful holiday- we will be back! Graham Underwood

Overall we found the Old School House comfortable and the owner was friendly and welcoming.. We did however find the noise from the very busy road right in front of the cottage disturbing. There are no amenities close by and it is very isolated.

Bedroom downstairs and lorrys whizzed past directly outside also found it risky when leaving the property as you emerged between two stone buildings.. The farm does not have livestock anymore so there was no noise from farm itself. Only took about 30 minutes by car to the coast or local places of interest . Cottage was well equipped and clean.

Our host, Mrs Ridout could not have done any more to make our holiday a success.. She even had one of the farm lads pump up our car tyre that was looking a bit low. The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean, and very comfortable.
