Really pleased with The Old School House. Everything was clean and tidy on our arrival. Nice quiet location and well placed for the Dorset coast. The house has loads of character and everything you need for a comfortable stay.

I’d been a bit concerned as I’d seen other reviews that said this property was not clean, but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. All the main facilities, kitchen, bathrooms etc were spotless. It’s an old property with lots of character so it’ll be impossible to make it as pristine as a newly fitted out let, and yes there is the occasional cobweb and dusty windowsill but we’re in the middle of the country with old, leaded windows. The kitchen is a cook’s dream with a beautiful big double oven and lots of utensils, the utility room a massive bonus with a very good quality washer and dryer. We have had to flick the heating on on a night occasionally and the house warmed up beautifully, we have had no cause to light the fires. Only criticism would be no mattress or pillow protectors (though that was standard these days?) and the duvet covers and towels look a bit tired, the house just feels a little bit “unloved “, but other than that The Old School House has accommodated us very nicely indeed. Easy to get to the coast and several great dining pubs within 10 minutes drive. Local pub shut which was a shame.
