I would just like to say that I booked through booking.. Com where it was not clear this was a sykes holiday let. I received no reply to messages sent through booking.com which has never happened before. I could not discuss check out or parking etc. I also didn't know until AFTER we'd booked that we'd have to strip the beds and load the dishwasher, even with a 10am checkout. And there was no toilet roll on arrival- in a place that cost over £400 for 2 nights. The location of the house was good for amenities- the main road was noisy enough to wake us. Nicely looked after house but one bathroom for 9 people is not enough.

First trip after lockdown and it was a dream. Lovely house with lots of space and everything you can think of needing in the kitchen! Close to a few different beautiful beaches and good walks nearby. Was very clean and with no direct contact with hosts all was covid secure. Great convenient location right in the centre of town. Will certainly look at getting some space next year when pubs are open :)

I had an email stating i could check in at 3pm arrived but couldn't get in the property.. The cleaners were there and told us check in was 5pm. Even though i showed them an email from the week prior to me arriving. There were no covid 19 procedures. No masks the property was a state The property was filthy, its not seen a duster for 20 years. There was food in the cupboards, rubbish everywhere. I will be complaining to yourself and i intend cancelling my December get away.

I was very shocked to find rubbish from previous Guests left in the garden by the back door. The owner know of our booking but no heating had been on for days so the house took 12 hours to heat up. The towels had seen better days, must have been years old. The house was not cleaned very good, make up on sheets, dirty floors. Would not book this cottage again. Did report it but to date no apologies from owner

Great value for money the pictures don’t do the house justice so it exceeded our expectations we came to Braunton for a wedding and soon realised what a great location the house is in making it easy to visit some of North Devon’s famous towns and beaches.. The riverside restaurant serves excellent roast dinner, we would also recommend Sian Bistro and the local fish and chips. We will be returning at some point only set back would be parking at busy times as there doesn’t seem like there’s enough.

This house feels like home, we want to move here. Spacious, clean and beautifully equipped, with a large kitchen diner fitting us all in, including the dog. The house is so well situated with the park up the road, the river walk 5 minutes away and the Tarka trail conveniently close. We walked from the property on all these paths and up the hill at the back of the house where we had stunning views across Braunton Burrows. Other days we drove to Braunton Burrows or Saunton Sands or Crow point, all 10 minutes drive, and wandered for hours taking in the wildlife, the plants and picking mushrooms and mussels for dinner. We'll be back next year for sure.

Parking was just across the road in Caens car park which was very reasonably priced.. The boiler tripped out but was easy to reset when investigated although it did leave us with no hot water for a night. These are minor issues compared to the very good position for beaches, food, pubs and a very comfortable well presented property which we thoroughly enjoyed. The property faces SQ delivery entrance so leaving the window open of a night may cause some people an issue with early morning for deliveries. Obviously with the window shut there was no problem however the weather being warm its nicer to have the draught.

Stayed for two nights, visiting the beach a couple of times during our stay. The house is centrally located on a road in the village, with shops and restaurants less than 5 minutes away, but it is still very quiet. House is very well equipped, we cooked while we were there. Garden was a bit cold for sitting out this time of year in the evening- we shall have to come back during the summer!

The perfect place to relax after a great day surfing- yes, even in September! Easy to wash and hang wetsuits in the garden afterwards. Such a convenient location (for both beach and shops right outside for breakfast!) and cosy space to spend the evenings. Plus I have kitchen envy- they really have everything you need here.

It was the first time we rented a big cottage for 7 of us and we were a bit apprehensive about the facilities at the cottage and the comfortableness of it.. However we were very pleased with all we had in the cottage and wouldn't hesitate to book again when we manage to be all together again.

The Old Police House is a spacious house in the heart of Braunton that comfortably fits our group of 4 adults and 5 children. Its in a great location, within walking distance of the shops, bar and famous Squires fish and chips and just a few mins drive from the amazing North Devon beaches. The house has been sympathetically renovated, keeping its quirky features including the wonderful "Cell" with its hand-built bunkbeds. Its well equipped and furnished. There is a large dining table that seats everyone off the open plan kitchen and a great decked garden complete with slide that keeps the kids entertained. In fact the kids keep asking "are we going to the house again for Easter?" Well we have just booked for the third time as its such a comfortable house in a great location.

Ideal for our requirements.. This is the second year we have used the house & will book again next year. Will be even better when the additional toilet installation is completed. Would suggest using sensor activated lights outside.

This is the second time I have visited the old police house. This time we had lots of sunshine and really enjoyed lazing on the top deck with prossecco and raspberries; cooking up meals in the sociable kitchen (with ingredients from the shops conveniently 2 minutes away) and watching Netflix and a DVD from the selection. During the day we visited nearby beaches and dunes for long walks, the obligatory icecreams, and excellent fish and chips from over the road (squires are award winning and 16 is super - but closed Sundays). I love waking up in the garden room to the sound of distant seagulls reminding you you are on holiday at the seaside. We also spent an evening playing various board games which was great fun and all provided too. The house is really well equipped for relaxing and feels spacious and happy. Oh and the shower is great - proper powerful and gets the salt of you easily. I will have to come back again to use the lovely claw foot bath next time tho.

The Old Police House is amazing. Thank you for providing such extremely comfortable beds. Very comfortable house, excellent kitchen area and nice bedrooms. The boys loved the cell room, especially the bunk beds. BBQ was a lovely touch for a warm spring evening, and when the weather got wet there were lots of games, books and dvds in the house to occupy us. Braunton is a great place to use as a base to visit North Devon. We went to all the local beaches and loved them all. Would defo recommend. Thank you - ticked all the boxes.

Right in the heart of the town with a butchers, grocers, bakery, and Coop all 2 minutes walk away as well as plenty of surf shops and lovely cafes. The house was amazing - such a great garden. We sat out on the decking and had a BBQ while the kids ran around the garden having a water fight and tiring themselves out on the slide before going to sleep in the fantastic bunk beds, which have to be seen to be believed - there is no bottom bunk!! When it is sunny there are gorgeous beaches a few minutes drive away, and when it rains there is plenty to do just in the house: there is a cupboard full of board games, a smart TV, tonnes of baking equipment and great wifi. We will definitely be coming back!

TOPH is absolutely lovely, full of character yet modern equipment and all the things you need.. The lounge is very comfortable for TV watching and the garden just right for my dog first thing with lovely walks, bars and restaurants all around. Street parking a street away wasn't a problem and dropping off luggage was fine, even with the double yellows.

This is a really well presented property suitable for all types of groups. The property is spacious and homely, and sits in a convenient location within the town and has some excellent surfing beaches within close proximity. The property was situated in a good position within the village centre. There was good bus access to other towns and beaches in the area. The owners were friendly, helpful and were there to greet us on the first day. The house was an old police building and had a lot of character. It was spacious and clean and we would definitely visit again.
