Best cottage we have ever stayed in.. The cottage is in the centre of Malton which has so many shops, great pubs and marvellous restaurants. Everything about the cottage was great from the welcome pack, the cosy log fire, the cosy rooms and marvellous outdoor space as well as parking for two cars. The owners were so helpful and were always on call if needed not that we did. Would highly recommend the cottage

We had a wonderful Christmas at the Old Pipe House.. The house is very cosy and centrally placed in Malton to allow easy access to bars, restaurants and shops plus the train station is a short walk away for trains to York. We enjoyed several walks in the Wolds with the added comfort of being able to return to the log fire afterwards. The owners are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive - thank you so much for the generous welcome pack. We will definitely be returning.

This is a very pleasant comfortable well furnished cottage.. It would be wonderful for a spring and summer holiday. It has a very nice garden. We were staying in the cottage the week before Christmas, there is central heating and a log burner but perhaps we chose a particularly cold week it seemed rather chill. Just one or two points to mention. It is in the middle of a busy small town, this has pluses and minuses. Being where it is it is good for eating out and exploring. Traffic noise is possible on busy days. Malton is a lovely town everywhere we went shop staff and restaurant owners could not have been nicer. The owners of the cottage are a very nice couple who took the trouble to contact us before we left home, to pass on information. Over all we would recommend the Pipe House.

Location was perfect.. Cottage was amazing and the welcome pack from the owners was a nice touch. As a regular Sykes user this is by far the best cottage I've loved in so far.

It was perfect location as a base for cycling and walking in Yorkshire.. The host was really helpful with information before the holiday and he is happy to post on a bulky item that I left there at no cost to me which is above and beyond

Loved our stay at the Old Pipe House which was perfectly located for us to explore Malton, York, Scarborough, Whitby and the surrounding areas.. Well equipped home, had everything we needed and the welcome pack and milk in the fridge was a very kind gesture. Owners very hospitable and made sure all was well. We thank them for having some toys and games available, it kept our four year old entertained and out of mischief. Yes there was traffic but it really didn’t bother us compared to other reviewers. In fact, we very much liked being central in a busy town and for those occasions you didn’t want to drive there was a train station close by. There was a local music festival on during our stay and we enjoyed it sitting with a G&T in the garden! We would very much recommend.

Had a great stay at the Old Pipe House.. The house is homely and extremely well equipped for both human and canine visitors. The garden is lovely and private which gives the feel of being in the country whilst in the town. Good location, their is some traffic noise but the house is in a town so this is only to be expected and it stops at night. Secure off road parking is a real plus. Excellent welcome pack, and attentive but not intrusive owners. We all felt rather sad to leave.

The house is ideally situated for exploring Malton on foot.. The Sainsbury’s Local is very close and great for those extras needed after the main shops have closed, which seemed a little earlier than we are used to. Lots of wonderful food and antiques shops in the town. The garden at the house is lovely - a real sun trap and the summer house is an ideal place in which to chill after a day out and about. Plenty of garden furniture and cushions! The accommodation was fine. The main bedroom is very spacious; the twin-bedded room a little on the small side when two adults are in residence but not a problem. Sitting room and kitchen/dining room were ideal. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to all our questions/comments both before and during our visit. There was a slight issue with the door of the twin-bedded room which did not latch properly and tended to swing open if not wedged from behind but the owner is aware of this and hoped to get it repaired.

A really lovely stay in a comfortable and pretty period property.. The secure garden was a great feature for us and our dog and we enjoyed time spent in the summer house. Malton was a perfect place for us to indulge our loves of walking in superb countryside and locally produced delicious food and drink. We shall be returning.

Excellent base from which to sample Yorkshire.. Interesting market town, mixing the old and new. Lots of good places to eat on the doorstep, many dog friendly. Good Bus and Rail links to York and to Scarborough. Moors, Wolds, Castle Howard, Steam train to Whitby and much more. Character listed Georgian house, with everything you need. Quiet garden with summer house if you choose to have a day off of sightseeing. Very helpful owners.

The Old Pipe House is a lovely property - very well presented and equipped.. The generous Welcome Pack was a lovely surprise and the very private little garden and summer house a real treat. Its position in the heart of Malton is excellent giving immediate access to all the cafes, shops and transport links. So much to see and explore within easy distance of Malton.

A lot of thought has gone in to making a stay at the pipe house as easy as possible.. Parking is Brilliant and the garden secure and surprisingly peaceful. Sadly the single glazed windows don’t cut out the sound of the surprising amount of large traffic that goes past in the early mornings - where do they all go?? But that said it didnt disturb us too much we were just surprised by the volume of traffic. The kitchen was well stocked so it was easy to cook a meal there if you didnt want to go out and try the superb eateries around Malton. We did miss having a dishwasher but we had plenty of time to do the little bit of washing up we made. We all loved the garden and little summerhouse, the twinkly solar lights added a nice touch, Ive ordered some for my garden. As has been mentioned before the double bed isn’t the comfiest if you’re used to a nice firm mattress, but overall that was the only negative in our weeks stay. There is so much to see and do in this little town and this house is in a great position to explore.

Our stay at The Old Pipe House was welcoming and cosy.. The log burner was a bonus. Great location for access to all Malton has to offer and local public transport gave us easy access to places to visit outside of Malton without having to touch the car. Would definitely use this lovely home again......loved it!

The safe and secure car parking was excellent and worry free.. The lovely gardens was still colourful with flowers and the squirrels provided good entertainment while sat in the warm October sun. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in The Old Pipe House and would recommend it.

From the moment we walked in greeted by the welcome basket in the well equipped kitchen & home we knew our stay would be lovely.. Location fabulous, to walk into Malton or getting the train to York or a drive to the coast, nothing too far away. We loved & made use of the log burner fire while chomping our Easter Eggs - Thank you

This cottage was excellent, and pet-friendly! We travelled to celebrate a birthday in the unspoiled town of Malton, and weren't disappointed. The Old Pipe House has all the amenities you could want, is in a great location and is a property full of character and charm. The property is also an easy to commute to places such as Scarborough and York. Book and you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I celebrated a birthday with a long weekend at The Old Pipe House.. We were thrilled that the owner allowed our two small dogs to come along with us too. The cottage was a home from home, extremly comfy and in a great location in Malton town centre. Everything was in walkable distance and our doggies came with us to every pub and restaurant we went to. We also travelled to Scarborough whilst in Malton, the town is in a good location to travel around North Yorkshire. We had an excellent stay! We loved the log burner and the welcome package on arrival. The cottage was equipped with everything you could need and more. Looking forward to our next visit! Mr and Mr Garbutt Moore

Lovely house with gated courtyard leading onto a pretty garden. Best welcome pack I have ever seen, we didn't use the woodburner but it had been laid ready in case we needed it. Two good sized bedrooms plenty of light and beautiful fresh smelling bed linen and towels. The central heating was thermostatically operated and easy to use, the house warmed up quickly, the bathroom was small but was perfectly adequate with a large shower area and very clean. A large kitchen plenty of utensils plus the benefit of a washing machine, no dishwasher but this was not a problem considering the large double sink and loads of instant hot water. The living room is just like the photos, homely very comfatable and spotlessly clean. Plenty of information leaflets etc, free wifi. Close to all local amenities but very little traffic noise. Malton is a lovely village great food and plenty to see and do locally.

A beautiful house, very cosy there was no need to use the woodburner but we did use the central heating in the evening which was very easy to use, the bedrooms were excellent and very good quality bedding, the bathroom was small but had everything you needed with an excellent shower, also a small but lovely garden and courtyard.. Close to all local amenities but very little traffic noise. Malton is a lovely town and I would not hesitate in recommending this lovely house.

Comfortable well equipped cottage in a nice market town with private off road parking. Clean and tidy and a nice welcome pack to greet you. Good Wi-Fi access. It is just a short 3 minute stroll to the centre of the Market town of Malton with its shops and coffee houses. Ideally located to explore both York ( Use the park and ride 15 minute drive down the A64) and the surrounding area which is full of English Heritage and National Trust sites.
