A very comfortable and tastefully decorated cottage.. Our only moan was lack of amenities in Barmston itself though the Black Bull is a nice friendly pub and not been able to order a takeaway from Bridlington even for a charge. Not actually Sykes fault.

The cottage was as advertised, it was extremely clean and very comfy with everything we needed.. The area was just what we wanted - very quiet, some days we almost had the beach to ourselves. The walk down to the beach through fields was very pretty. We hope to return to this cottage and would highly recommend.

This holiday cottage is excellent, in a good location, walks to the beach very close, stunning sunsets while we was there across the fields, the property is larger than you think very well equipped, spotlessly clean, it is off a rd so there is some traffic noise but not enough to be considered noisy or a nuisance, we booked as it said 2 car parking spaces but then when I booked it said 1 , however there was room for our 2 cars so was fine, the wi-fi was patchy at times not enough to bother us it might bother some people as the one evening there was no wi-fi for hours so the netflix wasnt avaiable but we just went evening walking so again wasnt really a issue it certainly didnt impact on how much we enjoyed the place, it was very enjoyable we would not hesitate to recommend or re-visit at some point..

The cottage is absolutely superb the owners have gone the extra mile making available virtually every thing that you may possibly need during your stay.. They have put a lot of thought into ensuring the stay was a very pleasant experience cannot recommend this cottage enough 15/10. Thank you very much Neil & Janice & Molly she says thanks for the bowl of treats you left me. Also Sykes Cottages if this is the standards you work to we shall be booking with you again. And we shall be visiting this cottage again.

We have stayed at the old joiners shop four times now and have always enjoyed our time here. The cottage is spotlessly clean, with everything you need. We arrived before Christmas and on our arrival the cottage had been tastefully decorated with festive ornaments, we had also been left gifts from Janet and Steve. The owners of this beautiful cottage. I would strongly recommend The Old Joiners Shop for a great getaway. Cosy evenings by the fire, the beach ten minutes away. We will be back again soon.

I booked the cottage as a treat for the family for new year.. We all had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the old joiners shop! Lovely location and the cottage was very homely. We look forward to staying again!

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and well equipped.. Lovely, quiet location. Unfortunately, the wifi is only sporadic and very slow - very frustrating and this has been mentioned numerous times in the visitors book. I do feel this should be pointed out in the description of the facilities, as had I realised this I would not have booked this property. I also felt that one hand towel and one average sized towel per person was not enough for a whole week - again this has been mentioned previously in the visitors book.

Just visited this lovely cottage for a long weekend. The cottage was very clean had everything you could want and the tea coffee and milk on arrival was an added bonus as we had traveled along way. Great location for visiting all the coast lines Yorkshire has to offer and great for dog walks. We visited Mr Moos for ice cream which is definitely worth a visit and the church just down the road is worth a visit as well. Check if the Black Bull pub has food as we walked down and they were not serving food but the Italian at the end of the road served lovely food. All in all a lovely cottage in a good location.

When you walk through the door you feel very comfortable straight away. Stress free location and central to places like Bridlington, Hornsea, Beverley. Pity that the only pub in Brampton village was closed.

This is our second time at The Old Joiners Shop and it won't be our last. The cottage is extremely cozy, especially when the log burner is roaring away. It's very clean and the kitchen provides everything you need. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The kids loved there bunk beds (loads bigger than your typical caravan bunks) and they spent hours sitting in the bay window watching the world go by. Barmston itself, is a very relaxing and friendly little village. You have a well kept caravan park at one end of the lane ,a village pub less than 5 minutes walk away and at the other end of the lane, you have an excellent Italian restaurant. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the North Yorkshire surroundings. We caught the local bus into Bridlington which cost £10 return for a family. We also visited Go Ape at Dalby Forest which is around an hours drive away. We had excellent weather which always helps. If you want a proper chill out vacation, this cottage will definitely fit the bill and if you want a base to explore North Yorkshire, you will not be disappointed with The Old Joiners shop.

Stayed for three nights with my partner and two dogs. The cottage was beautiful, very high spec fixtures and fittings, lovely layout and very spacious. The cottage was very well equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils/pots/glasses, even items such as cling film and foil, which made the stay easier. The bed was so comfy I slept right through each night (a rarity on my part). The outside courtyard was lovely and I really enjoyed sitting on the bench every morning with a cup of tea, listening to the birds in the aviary at the bottom of the garden. Only down side were the house rules were a bit restrictive, not being able to leave the dogs in the apartment meant that we couldn't put money into the local community as we had to eat in every night, saying that I would definitely visit again.
