Fabulous place to stay, views were spectacular and we so enjoyed the different species of birds.. The cottage was immaculate, every need catered for and the owners were so welcoming. Would we go again? YES without doubt.

We went for a week 23 March and were lucky enough to have exceptional weather, sat reading in warm sunshine on the patio in total peace and with far reaching 180 degree views of the green hills and a chicken or two inquisitively walking by.. Relaxing as only such conditions can bring me. We could have stayed longer.

Ian and Jane were lovely.. We were treated with fresh eggs from their chickens and freshly made cake and bread. The best place we have ever stayed with our dogs. Very dog friendly. Only negative was there isn’t much to see in this are unless you travel .

We had a lovely peaceful holiday, the owners were very helpful when needed and had left lovely little personal touches for us.. . the cottage was very comfortable and clean. the step from the living area into the bedroom/bathroom was difficult for me to access but the owner very kindly came straight away and fixed a grab bar which made it much easier for me. I have mobility problems but do not need a wheelchair and I would not recommend the old beams for anyone who had wheelchair or walking aids. Overall The old Beams is a lovely relaxing, peaceful , hideaway holiday cottage. A lovely place with a lovely view from the window.

I don’t necessarily think that Sykes should take much of the credit for this lovely holiday as they as the agents did nothing more than advertise the venue.. The Old Beams is a lovely venue with views over open farmland. Wildlife is abundant and just sitting on the patio gives great access to a variety of bird life. Ian and Jane who own the property were very pleasant and inviting and you couldn’t wish for friendlier our better hosts. Hopefully we will return in the not too distant future as everything about our holiday was really good.

Lovely peaceful spot.. ...perfect for two and small dog....very hospitable owners....generally v. good facilities ..though a freezer cabinet (even a small one) would be useful. An autumn visit would be a colourful experience!! ...tempting!!

Our Holiday at The Old Beams proved to be very high in our "Best Holidays" The host, Ian and Jane went out of their way to make our stay a huge success which it was.. The views from the cottage was exceptional. Nearby there were adequate shopping facilities. The location was so convenient to visit many attractions. We visited Shrewsbury; Powys Castle; Bal Lake, Llangollen and others. We strongly recommend The Old Beams to anyone wishing to holiday in Powys. Our grateful thanks to Ian and Jane for helping us to have a peaceful and perfect holiday. D&E L
