Turned up to find milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, sugar,,reading books family games, local knowledge books, bbq, body boards, xtra patio furniture if needed , lovely thick bath towels ,comfortable beds,,that was in the first ten minutes . The floor is wood block so perfect for my dog to learn how to skate, but so easy to clean. Half an hours walk to the beach through open fields, terrific, ten minutes walk to the town, one minutes walk to the square where you have the choice of three public houses, all serving great ale and food. Fabulous food from the takeaways, pizzas have to be the best in the vale from the pizza/ kebab house,in fact I’ve never had a better one, the Indian takeaway/ restaurant juboraj amazing, and the Chinese food is amazing, a little morel pricey than home but no complaints.I cook for a living and to have this quality within ten minutes walk is amazing, I kid you not. Local ale houses serving real ale, heaven. To return home to the old bakery in this beautiful old part of llantwit major capped it. Walking through the door to the warm glow of the fire ,nice large rustic dining tables and chairs, plenty of, to sit on, and to howler and relax to a nice comfortable warm bed, no, this isn’t my home, this is really how we all felt at the old bake house. When buying local produce and fresh veg, the old bake house has everything you require to cook the best gourmet meal, the fridge and freezer plenty big enough, the cooker is perfect, and other utilities excellent. Cosy, warm, remember, this is in January, we spent three weeks here and have booked for next year. Just pure luck finding this cosy nest, would be fab for Xmas,. Thanks for sharing your house Debbie, brilliant,

We stay at the property regularly and always have an enjoyable and comfortable stay.. The cottage is in a good village location, well equipped and homely. There is a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants within the village which means that you don't need to travel far should you choose not to.

I was a solo traveller, using the apartment as a base to visit a frail friend who lives locally.. It is easy to find: a very attractive, pleasingly decorated, airy apartment. The house was very, very cold when I arrived late afternoon (end of January). It took a couple of days for the heating to even start to warm the place adequately, especially the open-plan downstairs area, and the bathroom. The floors downstairs (kitchen and living room) felt especially cold (if you suffer from cold feet, pack a pair of warm slippers). The stairs (polished wood) are stylish, but slippery (so, take particular care when using them). I'd travelled a long way, got caught in traffic, and arrived slightly later than expected: I would have appreciated a few complimentary tea bags and milk and sugar in the kitchen (most places, in my experience, provide this minimum of hospitality as a welcoming gesture). The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and the abundance of fresh towels were greatly appreciated. This isn't a cheap apartment for one person, but would provide good value for a family. If I make a return visit, I'd probably choose to come back in the summer.

An excellent cottage in a great location, with easy access to the beach and coast.. The village has a wide range of restaurants and there is easy access to shops, which are within walking distance. The property is well equipped and comfortable, which always makes for a great stay. The owner goes the extra mile to ensure that everything meets expectation and there is help on hand if needed. This was our second stay and our next is booked already!

We enjoyed our Break at the Old Bakehouse.. It was lovely to enter a warm, welcoming home, after a day of travelling in cold weather. The house is comfortable and has a nice outlook within the heart of Llantwit Major. The village centre is picturesque, with modern day facilities nearby. There is good access to countryside, coast and city from this location.

The home was extremely spacious and felt like a real home.. So many apartments that I stay in have tried to squeeze everything in but this holiday home was perfect to relax in.

Good directions by owner as we would have had difficulty finding it otherwise as it was dark and raining when we arrived.. Nice and spacious, well located for our purpose which was visiting friends. It was very quiet which was great. Would recommend and would hopefully come back again to visit.

This cottage was very comfortable and welcoming.. The kitchen was very well appointed. Our dog settled in straight away and our Grandson loved all the toys that were there. Llantwit Major is a lovely village with everything there if you just want to stay local but central for exploring wider areas. We have already booked to return next June as we enjoyed it so much.

An absolutely amazing home in a beautiful and quaint village.. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very clean and bright, homely and comfortable and had everything we needed. Llantwit Major is a wonderful old village and a great base from which to explore all that South Wales offers. We will definitely look to book this cottage again on our next visit.
