A comfortable, warm, spotless and well appointed farm building conversion with an open plan kitchen/living/dining area.. Bedrooms are smallish but adequate and beds are comfortable. The location is rural and peaceful with ample off-road parking a short walk behind the cottage. The owners are friendly and helpful and provided an extensive welcome pack with home-made cakes, bread, wine, milk, etc. The broadband is fast and reliable, but note that there is no usable signal for EE mobiles even outdoors. We arrived with more food than we would normally bring, due to the potential for further lockdowns during the coronavirus pandemic, so the small freezer compartment in the fridge was a challenge, but we managed. We had a restful week with mostly good weather and will happily stay there again.

This was a most delightful cottage in very peaceful surroundings.. Our arrival was met with the most wonderful welcome pack of homemade goodies and a fridge with essentials. All unexpected. Everything you need is available in absolutely spotless surroundings especially grateful in these times. Although mostly a wet 4 days did not deter our enjoyment.

The owners of the property went above and beyond, they left us a welcome gift basket and had thought of everything we might need during the stay.. The property was spotless and comfortable in a great location to explore the lakedistrict.

The cottage was lovely, clean spacious and the hosts were very hospitable and friendly, couldn’t do enough for you and the welcome pack was first class and very helpful and tasty.. Overall we would definitely recommend this cottage for a quiet relaxing break away from the bizz of city life. It’s definitely worth a visit. BB.

Good communication with the owner, Sykes is hard to contact by telephone or email.. No response from your organisation, lucky I could book it over Booking.com

Cottage was very clean and well equipped, it's mentioned a lot in feedback but the welcome basket was a lovely touch.. Excellent scenery and walk ways. Lots of activities and entertainment all within a 30 minute drive. Would recommend this cottage highly.

What a super cottage in a quiet location.. The welcome basket was overflowing! This barn conversion was situated in a convenient spot to allow us to investigate the quieter corners of the Northern Lakes with plenty of walking and cycling on the doorstep.

A sympathetically restored, small but perfectly formed cottage on the road side at the entrance to the farm.. Nicely furnished and very cosy. Beds were comfie and slept well. There is some road noise, but as it is a very small village so it is minimal. Main annoyance was the fridge could not be opened without moving the settee, and there was no storage for luggage. Apart from these wee things it was a lovely stay and the hosts greeted us with a nice welcome and some treats, which were exceedingly appreciated. The cottage is a great place to explore Carlisle, The Lakes, and Scotland. If you are looking for a spacious cottage to lounge around in, this is not the place. If you are looking for a lovely cosy homely base to explore the local area and take advantage of the walks on your doorsteps, then you could not ask for more.

The best accommodation we've stayed in.. ...ever! Extremely clean, well equipped, comfortable, beautifully furnished accommodation. Felt like walking into an interiors magazine! This was balanced with helpful, friendly, relaxed hosts. All household supplies were provided, which was a nice surprise (loo rolls, washing up liquid, great dvd collection, good books: especially for children) and the welcome treats were an unexpected, very generous surprise. Feels like the owners (who used to farm here) have invested in good quality (think Lakeland, Jamie Oliver, Andrex!!) Well placed for local trips to Keswick and set in a small village, so felt tucked away but still within easy distance of the Lakes. We felt like we'd made a great discovery with this accommodation and certainly plan to return.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and spotless and we really enjoyed ourselves.. The family were very welcoming and Lynn made cakes which were delicious and bought our essentials including wine which were very much appreciated. We gave booked to go back next year and just need the westher to be as good as it was this year. Massive thanks to Lynn and her family.

Beautiful cottage with lots of little extras like cakes on arrival.. Really lovely place and host but I have to say the one negative is the size of the double bed. It’s very small and me and my partner had to sleep separately. It would be fine for a small couple but I’m 5.8 and my partner is 6.3 and it was definately too small for us also the sofas are very small too. Apart from that it was lovely and very clean.

The cottage has been wonderfully restored in a modern style but retaining many original features. It's warm cosy and inviting and provides a great centre to explore both the Lakes and The Borders. The cottage has all the necessary facilities and a great Wifi signal. Lynn and Mark who own the cottage make your stay both enjoyable and very memorable.

As you walk in you will realise the true beauty of this house. The gorgeous high ceilings and beams. And the tastefully selected and cosy interior design. Its always a worry booking to stay somewhere you've never visited before however i truly couldn't recommend this place high enough. The owner was extremely welcoming and kind. (Even baked us a few delicious treats) and a hamper full of goodies. It was spotless inside and had everything one would need. We wished we'd booked longer but we will definitely be returning asap!

We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and from start to finish we couldn't fault the holiday at all. The cottage was immaculate and every detail had been thought of, so we wanted for nothing. The area itself was beautiful and within easy distance of great locations for walking and general eating out etc. I will certainly be recommending this to anyone I know who is looking to get away for a break.
