The accommodation was excellent in all respects,.. The position central for exploring both the Dales and the North York's Moors. This really was off the beaten track and the only noises to be heard were the calls of the Curlew, Lapwings and Oyster Catchers and the bleating of the sheep.

Lovely barn conversion with stunning views over Wensleydale.. Tranquility at its best! Excellent base for walking and sightseeing with many attractions literally on the doorstep, eg Jervaulx Abbey, Middleham. A warm welcome from our hosts, Claire and Rod.

A great place to stay if a little off the beaten track.. Lounge area could do with a little more furniture to make it feel warmer. Beds and bedrooms first class.

The Hayloft cottage is clean, comfortable and has spectacular views.. It is a dog friendly cottage which meant we could take our dogs too. There are some lovely walks straight from the cottage and it is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It also provides a central location for visiting other places of interest in the area.

A beautiful cottage in a fantastic location.. The pictures on the website don't do the cottage and the wonderful views from the windows justice! The cottage is decorated and furnished to a very high quality throughout. The owners are very welcoming and friendly with a lovely cake waiting for us on arrival. You can see lots of wildlife from the windows together with panoramic views over Wendsleydale. The cottage is ideally situated for visiting Masham, Leyburn, Middleham etc. and Jervaulx Abbey is just down the road.

The hosts couldnt do enough for us; in the high winds we lost electricity.. They came straight around and asked if we wanted fish and chips fetching from Masham; a large flask of boiled water and a pack of delicous Thornton's shortbread were provided and we enjoyed a dinner of Wensleydale Cheeses, biscuits, red wine and chocolate by lantern. It added a touch of exciting nostalgia to our holiday to experience a World without TV and a night of good conversation uninterrupted by modern technology. The Hayloft was very comfortable; warm and the thick stone walls cut out any sound enabling us to enjoy a good restful sleep in our super kingsize beds. High on the moorland hillside we were treated to some dramatic views across Wensleydale accented by the ubiquitous sheep and drystone walls. The daily routines of the mixed herd of Red poll and Black Angus as they moved from field to field: the playful warren of rabbits and the free wandering hens and cockerel amused us no end as we drank in the view from our perch on the wide picture window ledges. A return visit will certainly be on the cards: excellent accomodation; excellent location and excellent hosts!

Superb location especially if you like walking and take your dog with you.. The cottage is really spacious and well thought out. Good choice of books, games, videos and information on the bookcase for rainy days and evenings. Really friendly owner who lives on site. Perfect base for the Dales and north Yorkshire. Did I mention the night skies?

This was a lovely cottage and we enjoyed our stay.. However the facilities could have been improved by: 1, a dishwasher....the cups were quite stained when we got there and so we hand washed all the crockery and cutlery before we were willing to use them. I admit we are fussy, but a dishwasher would be helpful to the cleaners and guests for both cleanliness and convenience. 2, WiFi, although we didn't expect WiFi as it wasn't on the overview, we were surprised how much we missed not having access to the internet. Surely it would be possible and inexpensive to provide? 3, Mop and Bucket. Most of the floors were hard and a mop would have helped us keep the floors as clean as we found them, especially in the hallway after dog walks. The above would have led to top marks across the piece. I hope this feedback is accepted as constructive by the owners - as they are suggested in that spirit.

Brilliant, fantastic location next to the grouse moors.. Rob and Claire couldn't have been more helpful. Only thing missing was a freezer which we needed for the dog food but Claire came to the rescue and offered hers. They are doing a refit next year of the kitchen and will hopefully be able to fit a freezer. Wild life amazing Grouse, Curlew, Pheasant and Partridge in abundance. Husband had a great time fly fishing on Leighton Reservoir, large trout in abundance. Very dog friendly miles of walks and some very dog friendly pubs nearby.

Beautiful house, beautiful location, amazing views.. Very friendly and helpful owners who very kindly left us a pint of milk and a lovely cake as a welcome. The rooms were a very generous size, the bedrooms were lovely. We took a leaflet about the house and I can honestly say that I would and have highly recommended this property.

To be fair we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the holiday. The cottage itself was excellent, everything had been thought of and catered for. The hosts were very friendly, informative, and nothing was too much trouble. The location and scenery were breathtaking. We would certainly look at returning to stay in one of their cottages.

The cottage location was excellent and the cottage furnishings were luxurious. The beds were massive. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had a great weekend, inviting us into their home. The area is also full of sites and places to visit, after all it is the Yorkshire Dales!
