The Forge was spotlessly clean and the facilities excellent and the location very good.. The only issue we had was the sofa. It was huge and low and made getting up from it very difficult. Both my wife and I are not fully mobile, so a couple of armchairs or a more user friendly sofa would make us go back. We had to use the dining chairs to have any form of comfort.

I have contacted the owner to give feedback with which he agreed.. If he sacked his cleaner and employed a professional team his guests would have a more comfortable stay. The image used portrays a quiet cottage setting when in fact it is situated on a large junction, which is very busy. The location is good for exploring the Northumberland area, coast and inland.

The Forge is a lovely well equipped beautifully furnished comfortable cottage deal for couples.. It is a real gem and convenient for visiting all the highlights that Northumberland has to offer which are many. There is a handy little shop opposite the cottage and the local pub does good food. The only downside is it is on the corner of quite busy junction so bit hectic at peak times.

Wonderful holiday at The Forge Longhorsley, beautiful cottage (although the garden could do with weeding and tidying up) great location for everything , we took back roads to places and not the A1 as far more picturesque drive.. Loads of castles etc , the drive from longhorsley over to Belsey castle through all villages was beautiful. Brilliant week!!!

We feel the property description did not accurately describe the property location, being as it was, on the corner of a busy main road junction.. traffic noise and public parking outside the lounge and bedroom windows meant the curtains had to be kept closed all the time. The bed creaked badly , the sofa was sagging and not comfortable at all, the TV reception was poor/intermittent and there was no WIFI, The bathroom towel rail was broken and the shower itself very poor. The Garden area, such as it was, was overgrown and in need of a good tidy up. The whole cottage was in need of refresh/decoration and did not come up to the standard we normally enjoy or expected and as such the property was over priced, and in our opinion, over rated to achieve this higher price.

Excellent little retreat for a couple.. Set in a lovely area..millers shop over the road with Everthing you could ask for from hot butties in a morning ..and a lovely lady which told us all the best places to visit and the shoulder of mutton just over the road ..with lovely food and very helpful staff ...the cottage was absolute lovely.even had milk a bottle of wine in the fridge and fruit in the bowl when we arrived ..very clean and tidy..good internet on phone even though no Wi-Fi..never had a problem ...3 mins to the A1....and Northumberland is a beautiful place to visit..thanks for everything..would defo go again

Underfloor heating in the en-suite which is unique.. It is absolutely fantastic! Comfortable bed. Local pub and convenience store. Went for cottage for a rest and places to visit. We give the property a 10/10 rating as it met all of our requirements and exceeded our expectations. Cannot fault the property.

We arrived at the cottage at 7.. 30pm on 10.02.18 to find that there was no heating at all and as the temperature outside was below freezing. Hoever we had been left a small fan heater! We had had a busy day and merely wanted to put our feet up, have a glass of wine. Again this was nog possible as the TV did not work properly and was unwatchable. We therefore spent our first night very cold and uncomfortable. We were travelling to Edinburgh for on Sunday 11th to watch the rugby at Murrayfield so we contacted Mr Siddique and asked if he could sort the heating out and also the TV. On our return an oil filled radiator. had been supplied for heating but he was unable to sort out the TV. He advised us that there were plenty of DVD's we couldwatch or books etc to keep us entertained. We had wanted to watch the winter Olympics not DVD's. A technician was to visit the property Thursday 15th to have a look at the TV but by this time we had had enough of lack of heating etc so decidedto pack up early and return home. I feel that this 7 day break was a comllete disaster made worse by the fact that my partner had arranged this for my birthday treat. This break could not be described as pleasant but quite miserable. I woul like to receive your comments as this was not a particularly cheap holiday. Regards Stephanie Plumbridge

The Forge at Long Horsley was excellent.. The added extras were a lovely surprise and a thoughtful touch. It was very good as a base to get to other places. We will book this accommodation again.
