Among exotic desert foliage, there's a swimming pool with an integrated Jacuzzi, handcrafted swinging chair, a huge terracotta-coloured fire pit, and a cosy snug under a pagoda-like trellis. Inside, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a straight line or sharp angle – we love the way the curved walls melt into each living space, with archways, curtains, and soft fabrics all over. Thanks to this decor, it's impossible not to feel relaxed and connected to the earth. As if your home wasn’t creative enough, take a twenty-minute drive to Yucca Valley to visit the Noah Purifoy Desert Art Museum, plus restaurants and unusual shops. You’ve got an interesting neighbour, too – the ornate wooden Jodhpur Temple, which you can hire for lounging or spiritual musings.
