Stayed in this converted barn for a week with my mate, was great very clean and cosy. The only thing was the Hot tub was not with the barn and you had to share it with about 6/7other cottages and pay about £40 a week to use it. But other than that was a fantastic place to stay would stay again.

We have just returned home from a wonderful family holiday at The Dairy. The cottage is beautiful and spacious with high ceilings and original beams. There is a woodburner that was ready laid, though due to excellent weather was not required. The location is perfect for exploring the Lakes, West Coast and North of the border. Lots of parking spaces and sheep just feet away. Highly recommended.

The cottage is very spacious and comfortable a really good location to discover Hadrians Wall.. The decking and steps up to the cottage are showing signs of ageing which was the only downside.

Our plan was to use Milton Mains Farm as a base for touring the area, Hadrian's Wall, Lake District, and even going down to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.. It was so easy to find, I kept in contact with the owner Mrs Ackerley on the journey there regarding key handover, and she was there to meet us. She was extremely helpful, and showed us around. Nothing was any trouble. We had a week of beautiful weather, and the area was stunning, the autumn colours were amazing. We would seriously look at staying there again, and would recommend the place to our friends.

Our stay at the Dairy was plesant and what we wanted quiet and peaceful the only setbacks were, the hot tub didn't really work as only two jets worked and that was one of the things that I wanted as I have damaged my back, also the veranda and steps are in need of some TLC as planks need to be nailed down also the steps need attention.. So saying we enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was beautiful, it met all expectations.. It was a wonderful holiday home for myself, my husband and our two friends. The cottage was located between most worth while attractions, I definitely recommend visiting. The only improvement that I will suggest is for the kitchen utensils to be replaced with stronger ones.

Everything was fine just a couple of let downs.. The hot tub needs some attention for it to work properly and we had no WiFi connection because of complications they had with their supplier so not good unfortunately.

Lovely cottage with a well stocked kitchen, lovely and warm.. The bed was slightly hard for us but we managed. Shame about the Hot Tub which wasn't working correctly but the lovely lady didn't charge us using it but it was the main attraction for me booking that cottage. Would recommened the cottage.

September 2018
The holiday cottage is lovely, we had a really warm welcome from Mabel too, the only problem for us was the hot tub, I specifically wanted the use of one for our holiday.. We used it once for about 15 minutes as it only had one jet working and it didn't look very clean, I mentioned this before leaving and was told that they no longer charge for hot tub use due to the problems but I would much rather have paid the extra to be able to use it more often had it been in full working order and cleaner.

The link in the confirmation email was to another property.. The app suggested that the distance to a local attraction was 2 miles - it was 20 miles. The hosts were friendly and helpful and the location was in a lovely part of Cumbria. There was plenty to do and in easy reach of Carlisle. We will definitely go again in the future maybe to another unit.

Fantastic location to get out walking with the dog. Ideally situated to explore Northumberland, north Pennines, the north lakes and Scotland. The owner is very friendly and knowledgable about where to visit and was happy to help when we ran out of firewood (£4 charge per additional bag of logs). The cottage itself was very comfortable and well equipped which made it feel very homely. There is a £40 charge per week for use of the shared hot tub which me and my boyfriend were initially more than to pay as we knew we would be doing lots of walking and it would be a great way to relax after a day out on our feet. However we discovered that very few of the jets actually work and the ones that do work don't seem to be working correctly. We only ended up using the hot tub twice and we felt that at £40 a week, better maintenance of the hot tub wouldn't be too much of an ask. The only other slight annoyance would be that in the ceiling above the main bedroom, there is something nesting in the roof - we were unsure if birds or mice but whatever they were they make a terrible racket early in the morning. This wasn't too much of a problem as we got up early most days anyway but on the couple of days we wanted a lie in (we were on holiday after all!) this was made almost impossible by the noise they were making. Overall we had a brilliant week and we would stay on this site again (albeit in a different cottage and we would leave the hot tub!)

Fantastic welcome, owner there to meet us with the wood burner burning, the cottage felt so warm on a cold and damp day. Lovely cottage, the barn has been converted very tastefully. It has the added bonus of a hot tub which is so welcoming after a day out walking. Although near to a main road it was it did not detract from a lovely stay. Not too far from fabulous walks, owner was happy to suggest places to visit, although lots of leaflets to help. Loved it there and would definitely return.

We wanted a few days away with our 7 month old daughter and our two labradors before I went back to work. The Cottage was lovely and comfy and the woodburner in the open plan living / kitvhen/ dining area was loved by all. The dogs loved Milton Woods and we loved the hot-tub especially as the baby monitor still worked at the bottom of the garden where it is located. The milk and wine on arrival were a lovely touch.

A warm welcome from the cottage owners. Ideal for a quiet holiday, plenty of walks whether in woodland, the nearby adrian's Wall. Located within easy reach of the North Lakes, The Borders or Northumberland. The cottage had everything we needed including those little extras - tea coffee and milk, and a welcoming bottle of wine. A little more local information would have been appreciated - details of pubs / restaurants.
