(February 2019 - 2 people) 3-night stay at the Cwtch just outside of Llanbister, Wales.. Had a fantastic time. It was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you're an 'outdoorsy' person, love to walk in the countryside then there are many activities and places to see all within a 30-60 minute drive. We drove out to Elan Valley, Rhayader and Llandrindod Wells during our short stay. The place itself is located off road and away from any walk of life with the owners next door who we didn't see during our stay. We had a short phone call just before both arriving and leaving just to discuss arrangement of key collection. We brought all of our own food. Cutlery, pots/pans, microwave, oven/hob and kettle are provided. I did have to give the plates and dishes a little clean before use (just out of habit). Everything was just as advertised, hot tub was incredible, they do have wi-fi but it's quite weak which is expected. Our intention was not to use this much anyway. They also have basic freeview channels. The log-fire was great once it got going although I would recommend bringing some of your own firelighters. It took a while to get going and we were reluctant to use up all of the magazines/newspapers provided as stated in the handbook, they aren't frequently delivered. Logs are supplied. Water is sourced naturally from a spring I believe but we had no issues with water and the temperature inside the house was easy to adjust with either the heated panel on the wall or the fire. If you do fancy staying indoors then they also have a huge collection of DVDs and also board games, puzzles and books to pass the time. If you're looking to get away for a short break away, I couldn't recommend this place enough. - Kevin, Leicestershire

Lovely relaxing cottage but unfortunately the hot tub was over treated - there was a strong smell of chlorine and now my partner is suffering from skin irritation since using it..

Fantastic place, very remote but ideal if that is what you are looking for.. The hot tub and fire were great additions and really made the time spent there feel special. The farm and scenery is beautiful and surrounding areas such as the Edan Valley are certainly worth a visit.

We had the most wonderful weekend.. Very private and so cosy. We used the log burner and hot tub, as well as cooking some lovely meals. Decor to a high standard. We can’t wait to go back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cwtch. We found The Cwtch very easy thanks to Google and the owners directions. There was good parking. The views were beautiful and the hot tub was ideal after a long days walking. The Cwtch was small but big enough for me and my boyfriend. We had plenty of privacy but we knew the owners were only next door if we needed them. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and her little dog who was very friendly and told to head straight in as our keys were on the table. As we got into the cottage and settled in we read the black folder of information for us during our stay, including rules for The Ctwch, hot tub instructions, local eateries and other useful information. We also found a guest book and it was interesting reading about previous people who had stayed there and what they did during their time in Wales. A couple of issues to highlight; we should have had the water system explained to us upon arrival as for 2 days we woke up to no hot water and my boyfriend and I had to find the immersion switch as well as the radiator switch by ourselves. Also in the black information book were strict rules on the amount of waste we could leave (2 bin bags after a week.) It said that we were left 2 black bin bags for this but we discovered that we only had one, so we had to buy our own! And we were also only left one toilet roll for a week, so we had to buy more as well, which wasn't good enough considering the amount we paid and the strict rules on cleanliness and amounts of rubbish. They were only small issues that didn't affect our comfortable stay but we felt they should be mentioned. These were only small issues that is why we have only given it 4, however we did really enjoy our stay at the Cwtch and would recommend it.

Lovely cottage situated on beautiful farm land.. Perfect setting for a romantic break and the hot tub is the cherry on the top!

Couldn’t have a good shower because the water pressure was so bad.. No where to put clothes. Had to live out of a suitcase. Customers need to be aware of the amount of flies that are in the countryside in the summer. They are everywhere. Makes cooking and eating a pain. Apart from these small complaints the holiday was great. The location is remote but beautiful. Would recommend

The Cwtch is an ideal location to put your feet up and forget about the world for a few days.. Everything was as expected. We thouroughly enjoyed our few days away. There was no WiFi and the phone lines were down. But the owner made us aware of this on arrival and had arranged for it to be sorted ASAP. The owner was lovely and very welcoming. The cwtch itself is small, but has everything you would need. There is a standard fridge with a small freezer and plenty of cupboard space to store food and drink. The bed is huge! And the sofa is a perfect napping location (which you will need after long soaks in the hot tub). The hot tub is outdoors and has a beautiful view over the mountain. The location is not far from Elan Valley, which was amazing! The mountain route to Aberystwyth is a must. Even the weather was lovely! The only thing I didn’t see on the listing was that we were responsible for cleaning the property on leaving. We were made aware on arrival from the welcome folder. Although we had no problem cleaning up after ourselves, when you consider the price to stay at the property I felt that mopping the floors and stripping the bed should have been included in the charge. Otherwise, this was exactly was we needed to rest and recharge.

Location was superb, spoiled by bright external lights that couldn’t be turned off.. Very uncomfortable bed due to age of it. Worn out basically. Hot tub was disgusting. Only used the once, had a layer of slime over everything and a note that in the greeting book saying that if we wanted it cleaned it would be a £50 cost. Feather duvet on the bed which is no good for allergy sufferers. Otherwise tho. A lovely break and the location was great for what we wanted. Shame it was let down on these couple of points.

What a gorgeous cottage! ! Couldn’t have asked for a better, quaint little getaway for our 18th wedding anniversary! So clean, beautifully decorated, fabulous location amongst rolling Welsh hills etc etc. Just one small thing the cottage should really have its name at the entrance to the road you need to go down to reach it as you have no idea which way to go. There is a name of the B&B they have but not Cwtch. Otherwise wish I was still there! Hot tub was such an added bonus and luxury at its best! Bit of a shlep having to strip your own bed of linen and vacuum the floor but such a small thing it’s not the end of the world. Owner very friendly and helpful. So kind. Thank you thank you!!!! Really hope to visit again soon.

The Cwtch cottage is ideal for a break away from it all.. It's well equipped with finishing touches around the cottage that add to its cosy feel. We would definitely recommend it.

The Cwtch is a delightful little cottage with a very cosy feel. It is exactly as you see on the photos. The sat nav took us to pound farm just down the road, Cwmllechwedd Fawr is around the corner from there, but is signposted. The owner was very helpful via email when I was ordering my Tescos delivery a few days before we arrived, and came to see us the evening we arrived to check everything was ok. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are lots of DVDs, games, puzzles etc provided if you fancy a lazy day or night at the cottage. There is no phone signal but Wi-Fi worked fine and there is plenty of information in the drawers about things to do and places to visit. You can help yourself to logs from the shed for the fire which gave the cottage a fantastic warm and cosy feel. The view from the hot tub was beautiful, perfect to relax in after a day exploring (Ok, shopping!) with a glass of prosecco! The bed was very comfortable which was a bonus! All in all, we had a lovely relaxing weekend in this idyllic cottage and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

I think there was 1 or 2 things that could be tweaked.. Could do with a larger frying pan. Panel radiater was a bit difficult so owner left it on 30 degrees which was a bit to much when upstairs. I did not feel i had better touch it. The track to the cottage had many pot holes which i think should have been filled, i did see the materials on site. Otherwise i thought it was a very good cottage and we certainly enjoyed being there.

We loved the cottage, the only reason we would not re-book the property is because of how isolated it was, and we always choose somewhere different to go..

Me and my wife came hete for our first wedding anniversary at the beginning of may and I think it was the best decision we made that weekend, was a lovely getaway just the two of us and we both loved every minute of it. The barn conversion was of a very high standard and well set out, the land on which it was on was brilliant and the owners were very pleasant and very helpful both lovely people. The hot tub was amazing and very well complimented by the spectacular scenery of the hills and farm land, very relaxing. On our actual anniversary the owner was more than happy to let us both help feed the little lambs they have on site and we both thaught it was the highlight of our day and weekend to finnish off the best weekend away. Will definitely visit again and would happily recommend to friends and family (which we already have) thank you for a warm welcomr and amazing weekend all our best Paul & Jo Temple.

The Cwtch was a great place for a quiet escape. My partner and I enjoyed the tranquillity. I would recommend this cottage to friends and family. The log burner and hot tub were excellent and we were able to sit outside in peace.
