Area St Columb Minor is a quiet village off the main road into Newquay. The village is known for its food and local ales, as well as a range of weekly events. There is a pub with a magnificent village church opposite, dating back to 1430, and the high tower has been a landmark for generations of fishermen. There is a selection of lovely beaches in nearby Newquay, including the family-friendly Porth Beach, a lovely sandy beach with a sheltered aspect, protected by headlands on both sides. Newquay is known as the home of UK surf, boasting three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, making it a watersports paradise.
