Had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Sarah couldn't have been more accommodating and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Fabulous location and the whole place was spotless!

Just back from a great return visit to graysondale! My dogs are now sulking, the welcome for them was as warm as it was for us! they have loved being back in the wood, my 14 year old retriever cant walk far anymore but has had a new lease of life while there being able to potter and they have been as chilled as us! Fab food from the village pub too! Could have stayed for much longer!

We stayed one night as we had issues with the cleanliness of the property. We pointed this out to the owner who said she would deep clean the property if we stayed. However we would have expected the property to be clean before we arrived, especially the cooking facilities.

Just spent a glorious week at The Cottage courtesy of Graysondale Farm Holidays in Deanscale Nr Cockermouth in Cumbria. Stunning location and excellent hosts, Sarah and Rick who couldn't do enough for us. This quaint cottage is also very dog friendly and has 2 acres of woodland so your furry friends can roam freely. The cottage is very clean and very well equipped and is a great base for touring the lakes. Sarah left some beautiful flowers and a lovely welcome pack for us and the doggies! Sad to come home today, but we shall return!

Brilliant location near Cockermouth and Keswick.. Sarah, is so accommodating and we were made to feel at home. The cottage is lovely. We had access to the forest which is full of playful surprises which meant our girls would prefer to stick around than go exploring the lakes.... our dog loved the freedom to run through the forest. We will return.

The cottage is in a beautiful location and is small but perfectly formed.. Sarah met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful and showed us around the cottage. We loved the little welcome touches - it was my husbands birthday the day we arrived and a 'happy birthday' banner greeted us as well as a bottle of wine and biscuits, and some dog treats from Marte (Sarah's dog) for our two dogs. There were fresh flowers throughout the cottage and we liked that the wifi code was readily available too. The cottage has a selection of books, maps, dvd's and a craft box for rainy days but we had such lovely weather, we spent most of our time outside. We had dinner at the village pub on our first night and it was lovely, just a 5 minute walk away. The woods alongside the property are great and have a few little secrets to reveal, our dogs loved playing in there - we wish we had had time to use the bbq hut too, maybe next time! I think the listing is a little misleading stating the woods cover 2 acres, it's about half that but still a pleasure to stroll through. We enjoyed sitting out at night listening to the birds and star gazing, it was very tranquil. We did a couple of walks in the surrounding area and were so pleased to have visited the expansive and beautiful Allonby beach - as recommended by Sarah - we pretty much had the place to ourselves, and on a Saturday too! The dogs loved it! As a whole, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The cottage, the only drawback for me, and this is purely personal preference, is that the mattress on the double bed is very hard. Thank you very much Sarah and we hope to see you again soon.

This cottage exceeded my expectations which, because of the positive reviews I had read, were high.. It was extremely well-equipped and well-furnished. The heating was excellent. Bathroom towels were plentiful and lovely and fluffy. There were extra thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, tissues, wine, biscuits and treats for my cat. The owner was welcoming and friendly.

An excellent place to stay, had a wonderful few days at the cottage with my husband, son and dog. It had everything you needed, clean and in a lovely location. The owner, Sarah couldn't be more lovely, nothing was too much trouble. I can't speak highly enough of the Cottage. We will definitely be back.

A lovely cottage, in a peaceful area with easy access to the Lakes.. The dogs loved the woods, and the Hobbit cottage. The cottage was comfortable and easy to keep clean. It would have been good to have had a small freezer, (no ice for the G&T) Sarah Jane is lovely, very helpful and friendly.

Brilliant holiday cottage.. Owners thought of everything to make our stay perfect. The BBQ shed and welcome basket were added bonuses. Went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and homely and helped out when we had a problem with our dog too. Highly recommended for a perfect location to explore the lakes and a homely cottage with lots of lovely touches.

We were not expecting such freedom of use of the land and this is what makes this property stand out.. Sarah and Rick had all options available to cater for our needs. They accomdated our dog and provided a large cage the days we took the children to places like the zoo. They provided a cot bed, baby chair and bike store, the latter two not being stated but they went the extra mile to make sure our stay was pleasant and meet our needs. They also offered a washing service which come in handy with two young children. We felt like we had the place to ourselves and our Dog and kids made full use of the woods.

Beautiful cottage in fantastic surrounding. We have 2 teenage children and 2 dogs. The woods outside the house was great fun for all. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere nearby was dog friendly. On arrival we had some welcome gifts of chocolate wine and biscuits and a large welcome chew for the dogs!! Towels and blankets were provided for the dogs also. Beautiful walks and a really good local pub serving very good quality meals (The Old posting house).
