The hosts were very welcoming.. They had the fire lit and had home baked scones and brown bread waiting for us on arrival. It was a very peaceful and cosy house.

Très belle expérience dans ce cottage isolé typiquement irlandais décoré et équipé avec goût.. Nous recommandons vivement aux « vrais » voyageurs.

First of all, the correspondence we had with the Sykes staff was exceptional; all of the representatives got back to us very quickly and answered all of our questions and set things up very well.. The Cottage owners were so kind to come to a nearby hotel to lead us to the cottage which was hidden away a bit. They were so delightful, leaving us treats and a fireplace stocked with peat. The Cottage is so welcoming! My sister and I travel often together and this is by far one of the best places we've ever stayed, in any country. Completely quiet and secluded, fields full of livestock, blackberries to pick, and many, many miles of greenway biking trails and hiking trails right out the front door, some of which lead well up into the hills where the views over the water and islands are stunning in the changing light. Achill Island just 25 min away. We used the cottage as a base to explore Mayo and northern Connemara. The Jordans made themselves available for any questions and problems we might have had--but didn't. We were at such peace that we never turned on the radio or listened to the terrible news all around the world, and so could really and fully recharge from work stresses as we searched for the resident hares and pheasants in the fields. We cooked most of our meals and easily popped over to Newport 3 mi away to check emails and get supplies. The butcher shops in Newport have really excellent meats, and the grocery store has pretty much anything else you might need. Several choices of meals at the Newport pubs and restaurants and hotels, too. River's Edge Cafe a few miles away also has excellent food. Wonderful music and food in nearby Mulranny as well. No end of things to do and see! We can't recommend this place and the experience more highly--just wonderful.

Für Wanderungen oder Radtouren direkt vom Haus sehr zu empfehlen.. Oder auch, wenn man seine Ruhe haben möchte. Ein kleiner Tisch im Wohnbereich wäre noch schön.

Mr and Mrs Jordan were very welcoming and helpful, and Mrs Jordan's home made scones and bread were delicious.. The cottage has a lovely view, and was dry and warm, and thoughtfully equiped. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

It was very peaceful and quiet; a great location for exploring the beauty of the area - starting with the mountains just outside the door! If you want to unwind and 'get away from it all' and recharge your battery, well this cottage is ideal. The owners were very welcoming and if any problem had arisen, they would have been delighted to help. I really enjoyed my week at this cottage.

The cottage has everything you possibly need in terms of facilities and location for a relaxed break. It sits just off the Great Western Greenway path which is a very enjoyable cycle or walk. Newport, Achill, Westport and Castlebar are all easily accessed by car. Overall a 5 Star experience and we will definitely visit again!

Great location suitable for a 'get-a-way-from-it-all'. Owners were so so friendly and could not do enough to make the holiday great. The Cottage is a traditional Irish 'home'. So for a unique experience this has a lot to offer, step outside and the holiday begins.
