Property Description

Holiday home
In the unspoiled village of Broadwoodwidger, in the grounds of a handsome former Vicarage which dates back to the 19th century is The Coach House. The surrounding 3 acres of grounds, from which there are spectacular views of the local Devon countryside, are a haven of peace and quiet. The cottage has welcoming feel; the lounge/diner has wooden floors, a wood burning stove, and pretty window seats which look over your own private, gated garden. Also on the ground floor are a neat kitchen and recently refurbished bathroom. On the first floor are two bedrooms: the light and airy master double and a single room which has distant views over the adjacent fields. The Coach House is ideal for walkers and those who love to be outside. Nearby Roadford Lake offers an array of watersports, angling, cycling, walking trails and a lakeside cafe with stunning views.

We really loved the cottage.. Thanks to the inclement weather on the first day it was extremely cold when we arrived (early), but once the heating had been on for a while it warmed up and was very comfortable. Visitors need to be prepared for the quite long unmade drive, but it's worth it - the place and the grounds are beautiful and very peaceful.

Beautiful little cottage, spotlessly clean, everything you need, warm and cosy with great logburner! . Fabulous cosy duvet and lovely bath. We were very much left alone and arrived to tea and scones. Easy to get to coast and moors and Roadford lake has a great cafe which welcomes dog. My first holiday for 14 years and we couldn't have chosen better. Alison, Richard and Bracken

Our weeks holiday at the Coach House was so peaceful and comfortable.. Our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating, supportive and sensible and we do hope to make a re-visit in the future to your special piece of Devon. Your garden is beautiful in daylight, especially the onset of the tree autumnal colours and the additional starry skies turn it into a wonder at night. A beautiful place to be. Thank you again - for a special, enjoyable and a calming stay. There is a fantastic farm shop with a restaurant close by for both treats and vegetables and well worth visiting. The Coach House is a great place to base yourself to see Devon for both inland and the coastal days out. Smashing holiday!

An absolutely perfect retreat! Went away hoping to rest and relax away from city life and that's exactly what we got. The owners made sure to let us know they were around, but left us to our privacy and peace which was just what we hoped and enjoyed. Would HIGHLY recommend this cottage. It was superbly decorated, incredibly clean, and kept uptogether to the highest standard, as well as the amount of necessities they provided was incredible. The cream tea on arrival was delicious. Will definitely be returning here soon.

The cottage fully met our expectations.. The owner of the porperty welcomed us and gave advise on travel and destinations. The cottage is well located for doing day trips to the various parts of Devon and Cornwall. The old vicarage is a beautiful spot and we enjoyed our holidays.

The Coach House was reached down a single lane track with farmers fields either side.. The cottage with its own gated front garden was lovely and relaxing and the owners charming and very welcoming but not at all intrusive. A quiet, remote, peaceful spot. There isn't anything in or immediately near to Broadwoodwidger but a lake is a few miles away, a delightful village pub at Braton Clovelly and several pubs and a shop at nearby Lifton. Close to the A30 (Launceston is close by) it's easy to head to Bodmin, Dartmoor, south towards Plymouth and several National Trust properties or North-west to Bude on the North Cornish coast. An idyllic spot.

We had a wonderful stay at this delightful cottage.. It is has the most glorious setting! The only sounds to be heard were the birds and sheep. We sat in the garden one night looking at the stars, there was no light pollution to spoil the view, magical. The cottage was warm and cosy, comfortable beds, great hot shower, a big basket of logs for the fire. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a great week. The welcome pack, fresh eggs, wine etc very welcome! Sherry and Dave were lovely hosts, if a little mad, who is out gardening from dawn till dusk? But their efforts were well worth it their garden is gorgeous and they were more than happy for us to share it. If you are looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind you will find no better place to recharge your batteries. But equally you will be well placed to visit many of the beauty spots Devon and Cornwall has to offer.
