On the banks of the Seine, it’s just across the river from Île de la Cité with Notre Dame in one direction (a fifteen-minute walk away) and The Louvre in the other (a ten-minute walk). Despite its city-centre location, the decor is distinctly provincial with wood-beamed ceilings painted sunflower yellow and hand-cut tiles in the bathroom from the south of France. A mural depicting medieval France sits behind the country-style dining table and the walls are adorned with equine paintings. In the buzzing heart of Paris, this place is a little slice of provincial life and a soothing place to return to after a day of sightseeing.
