The Dales village of Gilling West sits north of the market town of Richmond. It has a church and two pubs serving food. There are footpaths, bridleways and fishing available nearby. Richmond is has its castle as well as shops, pubs and restaurants. Walks nearby include Castle Walk and the walk alongside the River Swale.
