This is the first time we've stayed at this BEAUTIFUL farmyard cottage but it DEFINITELY will not be the last. We've stayed in a lot of pet friendly places (we have a border collie) but this has to be one of the best. Mel & Paul are lovely down to earth owners. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you will need. We went to the local pub last night for a meal and we're going back again tonight it was that good and so reasonably priced. THANK YOU Mel & Paul. Love from Debs, Jonny & Whistle.

Over the years I have stayed in many self-catering premises but I have never encountered one as luxurious and well equipped as The Byre.. It is beautifully furnished, comfortable and warm. The facilities exceeded all expectations.

We had a lovely peaceful week at the Byre.. Melanie and Paul were very accommodating and left a hamper full of goodies for our arrival. A great spot for venturing out to the moors or dales. The Beeswing Inn just around the corner was a very friendly pub with excellent food and also dog friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.

Fantastic little dog friendly cottage with everything you could want.. Welcome pack on arrival was such a bonus and special touch and Melanie and Paul and their dogs were very friendly and welcoming, The local dog friendly pub serves huge portions of Home made food at very reasonable prices including Home made pizzas and was only a 2 minuet wall away. Will definitely be coming again.

Just come back from a short break to this fantastic little find! What a lovely place, everything you could possibly need and more, the welcome pack was such a lovely touch and Melanie and Paul and their dogs were so friendly and welcoming. The local pub is also dog friendly and is only a 2 minute walk away with lovely home cooked food and pizzas at a very reasonable price. Can thoroughly recommend this place as it’s so handy location wise for so many different places to go for interesting days out. Will definitely be back!

This was probably the nicest and best equipped Cottage for two that we have ever stayed in.. The welcome pack was extensive and very well thought out and presented. The welcome and help from the owners was also above that which we have normally experienced. It made for a very relaxing break.

On arrival we were met by Mrs Lawson who's showed us round the cottage.. It was better than we had expected and Mrs Lawson had provided all that we needed without having to make an initial dash for some groceries. Even a bottle of Prosecco. The cottage was very well equipped, including a pair of left handed scissors. Essential for my wife, the walk in shower was the best yet. Mrs Lawson's 4 dogs became regular visitors and got on well with our own greyhound. We missed them when we returned home. A big thank you to Mrs Lawson for looking after us. We hope to see you again soon. Rod & Pauline Gunn (and Lucy)

January 2018
A lovely cottage, made all the more enjoyably by the forward thinking of Mel, the owner.. Unlike so many holiday lets, there were more than enough items of crockery, and everything had been thought of -even a shopping list pad! Lots of towels available, not just the ones that were left out for instant use! As well as all of the kitchen items we could have wished for, we found everything we could have used for the dog- feeding bowls, lead, torches for night time walks, mitts for drying paws, you name it, it was there. Beautifully furnished home, which was very comfortable. The wifi was a bit flaky, but that didn't cause a problem, and is probably the result of the village location. Mel left us comprehensive supplies to 'start us off'. Not just milk and a couple of tea bags- jar of coffee, tea bags, box of biscuits, prosecco, crisps, bottled water, litre of milk, pack of butter, bread...... Despite a chilly Yorkshire week in early January, we were toasty warm with the underfloor heating. Mel and Paul were very helpful telling us about local facilities. Almost forgot to add, there are lots of 'extras', which folk tend to take, just in case - you won't need them! Loo rolls, hand wash, salt & pepper, sauces, sugar, laundry liquid, cleaning sprays. Brilliant, thank you!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at The Byre.. The weather was cold but the accommodation and the welcome warm from Mel and Paul and their local knowledge was really helpful. The snow made the area even more picturesque than we could have imagined. Having read the previous reviews of The Byre we were very hopeful of exceptional accommodation and we were not disappointed! Everything we could have possibly wanted was supplied and after days on the Moors, Dales and coast it was fabulous to return to The Byre. We will definitely come back again.

The owners were really nice and friendly making us feel very welcome. I can not recommend The Byre, highly enough, as previous reviewers have stated I've stayed in many throughout the UK and this was by far the best, the owners live next door and are so friendly. A fabulous welcome pack awaited me on arrival, in addition there was fruit, milk, bread, butter and fabulous eggs from the very free range chickens that wander around! The fabulous utility room which isn't photographed, is a god send if you're traveling with a dog, it's huge and very well equipped. The whole place was absolutely spotless, and a real home from home with high quality furnishings and so much space. The photographs really don't do it justice. It's in such a peaceful location, on a very quiet lane, and the most noise all week was from the cockerel! I will most definitely return to The Byre, I shall be booking in again soon.

The Byre is a beautiful converted barn, it was very relaxing and the owners were particularly helpful and welcoming. We would definitely book here again.

We loved our stay at The Byre, it is located on the outskirts of a small village which has a shop/post office and pub. The cottage was really well equipped with everything needed to make our stay a fantastic one. There are plenty of options for dog walks and also access to the owner's fields for the dogs to have a run around. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and would highly recommend a stay here.

You could not improve on this cottage. It was the best ever! The owners were so welcoming and helpful. The area was perfect.

February 2016
The converted barn was in a perfect location if you want to get away from it all for a quiet chilled out break. We loved the décor and it felt very homely. The underfloor heating was perfect for a cold wintry weekend and the pub within a 1 minute walk served a gorgeous Sunday roast. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away.

Having stayed in holiday cottages all over the country, I am delighted to say that The Byre was by far the best. The photographs on your website don't do it justice! The place is spacious, extremely comfortable and has an air of quality about it. The cottage is very well equipped in all areas, providing many extras that other cottages just don't have. On arrival it was also impeccably clean tidy. As well as providing a luxurious environment, it is essentially practical for dog owners with a spacious utility room. The owner was both friendly and welcoming, she must be commended on providing such a beautiful holiday home. Her attention to detail is second to none. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Byre and will definitely be visiting again soon.
