Stumbled upon this hidden gem through Skywest cottages. Glad not many people know about it as it would be consistently booked and we wouldn't get a look in !!!! Excellent in every sense of the word and Heather and Tony catered for everything. We were all chilled in every way, a perfect bolt hole !!!! Defo be visiting again Anyone who moans about this getaway cottage is very VERY petty !!!

Good location.. Nice but small holiday cottage. Extra touches included dog bed and bowls, dog shampoo and towel, brew making kit and milk in the fridge.

Fantastic and relaxing break.. Set in lovely part of the country the Barn made an excellent base for exploring the area. Spending time on the farm was enhanced by the friendliness of the hosts. Ideal accommodation for 2 adults and a dog.

Heather and the rest of the family were friendly and very helpful.. The two resident dogs were a joy and very well behaved. The cottage was just as we expected from the description and served our purposes well for the fortnight. The welcome tray was appreciated (milk, eggs, and brownies!) on arrival. A nice touch was the tea, coffee, etc. which were also supplied at the cottage, as well as items such as kitchen roll, foil etc. In addition there were a few essentials in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap etc.) for those who may require them. There was an iron/ironing board/clothes airer which was very useful to us in particular. A nice quiet place to spend some time and I would definitely recommend to friends.

Very nice, small and cute terraced cottage.. Ingenious in many ways there was two of us and our dog aka Thor (bernese mountain dog) and was still enough room for us. Loved the location so peacful and quiet. You had no idea you were on a working farm. The little touches were great fresh eggs, milk and chocolate brownie! Everything worked fine the Wi-Fi was super fast to say you are on the side of a mountain. Perfect few days.

Beautiful location - rural setting on edge of farm.. Cottage small but cosy, well laid out, in excellent order, with good facilities and very clean. Facilities for our dog were excellent. We appreciated the dog bed, blankets, towels and ball and the use of a field opposite for exercise. We also appreciated Heather's warm welcome and the provisions left for us to get us going. The Internet service was really fast, though we had occasional problems connecting. Sound insulation between the cottages wasn't great but we had quite neighbours so no problem - hope they thought the same of us! Location very convenient for exploring the Dee valley, and Eglwysig mountain. Local pub at the end of the road very friendly - be prepared for the banter! - and serves good beer and food at very reasonable prices. All in all it's a 5 star rating from us.

The cottage was not as we expected.. It was adequate. Hundreds of flies, 10 cannisters of fly relent and 10 hanging fly traps purchased just to try and get some sort of freedom from these intrusive beings. Had to walk to the top of the hill or drive to civilisation to get a signal. To say this was the back of beyond is an understatement. Heather and her family and fellow workers were good and we enjoyed their company. But, never again will we returning to here and were wondering what was instore at another Sykes Holiday?

Heather was so friendly and welcoming.. She provided a dog bed, blanket, towel, food bowls and toy for our dog. And she provided tea, coffee, sugar, milk and eggs for us as a welcome. So unexpected but lovely. The Barn was perfect and a great base for venturing out. Loved it

We were welcomed by the host Heather, who was a warm and friendly person.. On entering the barn we found waiting for us eggs from the farm, brownies, fresh milk, tea coffee and sugar a lovely touch. We felt we were at home and enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely be returning soon. A beautiful place to stay

The barn had everything you could need for your holiday including small incidentals that other places don't supply like kitchen roll, foil etc.. Also a lovely little welcome pack.. Bathroom had toiletries and tissues as well. It's small and compact which made it warm and cosy. The only downside was the stairs to the bed were quite slippy and I had a fall coming down them. I spoke to the owners about it and this is being sorted out right away. So with that addressed I would highly recommend the barn and other cottages they have as a great place to stay. Secluded yet close to shops and attractions and perfectly placed as a base to explore North Wales.

Liked the friendly reception and the amount of care taken to ensure we had a memorable visit. We had our dog with us and he could not have been better received - he had a large field to exercise in. We cannot praise The Barn highly enough and would recommend it to the Queen if she wanted a quiet break! We will definitely be back.

The location and accommodation were fantastic. The crowning glory were the keepers who made us and our dog very welcome. The secure field made our dogs holiday, as she was allowed to run free.

We stayed here for 4 nights over new year with our dog. The accommodation was very well designed, spotlessly clean and with a lot of little touches. These included home made mince pies, fresh eggs from the farm and lots of milk for all all needed coffee. The owners live on site and were the friendliest people we have ever met, going out their way to show us round the farm. Our dog was also very well catered for there were dog cleaning products, bed and toys all in the cottage waiting for us. Please make sure your dog is well behaved as this is a working farm and there are lots of distractions. Our dog was fascinated by the chickens which she had never seen before. We will be booking again for the summer as a base for a walking holiday

The Barn is very dog friendly, as was the owner. There were numerous walks in the area and the owner provided a book with alternative walks. In addition, there is a field where dogs can interact.

A great location for country walks with the dog. Lovely, thoughtful hosts who own the property - we had a warm welcome and the property was very clean. Plenty of good local information provided in the welcome pack. Captain's Bed was a novelty and the opportunity to buy fresh eggs from the farm was great. The dog was very happy to meet the farm's own pets and the opportunity to roam in a field.

Just back from a five day break with my partner and dog at The Barn. On arrival we were made to feel really welcome and the owners had provided some lovely personal touches including fresh eggs, cake and treats for the dog. The Barn is fully equipped with everything you need and was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. Cant fault a thing about it. It's location is perfect for walking and were able to leave the car and walk along the canal to Llangollen and visit so many beautiful attractions nearby. The local pub was friendly and very reasonably priced and we will definitely be going back again. Have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. :-)
