Lovely cottage in a quiet area easy to get to with good roads.. Owners were very friendly and helpful and pub next door was lovely. The cottage has everything you need. We took two dog s and the garden was plenty big enough for them to run around and is secure as long as they don't jump the walls .

No not at all.. We had a wonderful time at Tailors Cottage. The scenery around the area was beutiful. The owners were really friendly and acomodating. If I did have one minor complaint it would be having a public toilet for the pub directly outside our front door. Having said that the Happy Union Inn is not open until 8pm and the regulars must have been asked to consider us in the cottage as it didn't really bother us. If you want a really quiet place to stay for a friendly peaceful holiday Tailors Cottage is the one. We Will Be Going Back........

The hosts and the property were wonderful.. It was entirely my fault for underestimating how inland we were from the coast. We enjoy holidays near the sea and I thought 34 miles inland from Aberyswyth was ok but the roads in order to get to coastal resorts were very twisty and what was 34 miles felt like 134. I did realize that I had booked the wrong location a while ago but the property was very good for our needs accommodation wise. .

This is a lovely part of the world.. The owners, John and Karen were very friendly. In fact, both in the village and the local towns, all we met were very friendly and helpful people. The cottage itself is very well equipped. The large garden was perfect for our two dogs.

Such a wonderfully warm and cost cottage, especially at Christmas time. The owners had thoughtfully put up a decorated Christmas tree in the lounge. Lovely large kitchen which was very well equipped. We had snow which made everything very seasonal and made walking our spaniel extra fun. The Hall, which was opposite, was well worth a visit in order to see the 50 + Christmas trees on display. Tiny pub a few steps away and we enjoyed a game of pool one evening.

Fantastic location and very welcoming village.. John and Karen were very helpful and friendly too. The Elan Valley is a beautiful place to visit and there are some lovely walks around the area. we would highly recommend this cottage. if pushed for constructive criticism we would say beware of the stair case, being wooden is can be very slippery, and the mattresses are fairly springy, but really we had a fantastic time and would defiantly consider re-booking the same property!

The cottage was very comfortable and well presented, the fact that all bedrooms were en suite was fantastic and we really liked the the lovely farmhouse style kitchen. The friendliness of the owners and their generosity was humbling. An absolutely brilliant holiday in a fantastic part of the country. It was a good central base for exploring scenic Wales.

My wife, myself and two friends stayed at this lovely property during the week of the Royal Welsh Show and were overwhelmed by the friendliness not only of the owners, John and Karen Jones, but of the local people who frequented John and Karen's pub at night. The property is very well set-out and has everything you might need. The furnishings are comfortable and in very good condition. We had excellent weather during our stay and managed to sit out in the garden. This also gave us a chance to talk with the occassional passer-by, and walkers tackling Glyndwr's Way. The pub, which opens at 8:00p.m., Monday to Saturday, is a 30 seconds walk away from the house. The house is attached to a post office, operated by Karen, and opens two days a week. As you can see, this is a very rural retreat. It is, however, a short drive to local towns Rhayder, Builth Wells, etc, and lies in, and near, superb scenery, including the Elan Valley. There are also frequent sightings of Red Kites over the house. If you want somewhere to stay on this area you should consider Taylors Cottage as one of your options.
