We loved our stay at swallow cottage.. The surroundings was beautiful & the cottage was as quaint as can be. Mainly a walking, doggy holiday for us so it was perfect. Easy access to Cinder track and Cleveland way, nice rocky beach 30 mins walk down the cinder track with a pub (Hayburn Wyke Inn) on the way. Definetly be visiting again, already missing the log fire of a evening.

By far one of the best cottages I have stayed in for a long time.. Perfect location, very clean and cosy plus beautiful views of the Yorkshire Moors. The owners were very kind, letting our children go into the fields to see their ponies every day and they even got to groom them. Ideal position to see all the local areas and explore the beautiful Jurassic coast. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we would love to return here again very soon.

May 2018
The cottage was lovely and in a lovely picturesque setting.. The Swallows was a converted barn on Hillside Farm with lovely well kept gardens and was really easy to relax. The cottage itself was cleaned to a very high standard and had everything included in the package and all you needed to bring was your food. Pippa and Graham were a fantastic host and obviously knew the whole area but advice they gave was excellent and saved both money and hours looking around for parking places. Situated close to all the Yorkshire resorts it was a first class holiday which did not require us to travel long distances daily. I would recommend the property to anyone with a small family.

I don't think we could have chosen a nicer cottage. This was our sons first time abroad and as soon as he saw the beauty surrounding the cottage he was off taking pictures. if your looking for quaint and charming with every amenity your could want this is your cottage. All of us fell in love with Ginny, the owners Airedale Terrier. She came to the door for breakfast every morning and just added to the magical atmosphere. Had wonderful days out to Fountains Abbey and so many beauty spots in Yorkshire. I would highly recommend this cottage, it is the quintessential English dream cottage that most Americans dream of. Don't hesitate to book. We are just sad we did not get to know the owners better as they lived on the property,

February 2016
In stunning surroundings! It is not far from Scarborough or Whitby if you need anything, yet was isolated enough to have the peace and quiet for a relaxing holiday. An absolutely beautiful area to explore whichever direction you head in. A really cosy cottage on all fronts with the log burning fire being particularly comforting. The beds were clean, fresh and very comfortable. Really cannot say enough to compliment this beautiful cottage; I have already recommended it to two other parties who're looking at visiting the area. Had a fantastic holiday regardless of the very unpredictable weather.

Swallow Cottage was a lovely comfortable place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The house and grounds are very well maintained, with nice little touches for visitors, like picnic tables around the grounds. I loved being near enough to see the sea from just up the drive from the house, and the countryside views are very attractive. The owners were friendly and obviously working hard to keep everything up to a high standard. I loved the peace and quiet and the ponies!

May 2014
Clean, well equipped and comfortable throughout. The owners of this property have done all they can to make their guests stay the best it can be. One grouse that I did have.. and not the owners fault in the least.. was to find the previous user of the washer/dryer had washed their dog's blanket and/or towel in it. My clothes came out covered in short white dog hairs.. and I do mean 'covered'. Not best pleased with that and said so in the visitors book as a reminder to any future holiday makers who may be rather short on consideration and respect for others ! But apart from that Swallow Cottage is a lovely place to stay at.
Mr Clay
April 2014

My husband and I and our 2 Border Collies have just had a fantastic long weekend in this delightful cottage. The location is ideal for local walks directly out from the cottage which take in old railway track sites, Cleveland way and beauiful beaches. Pippa, Graham and Ginny the dog make you feel very genuinely welcome to their property which is located just beside their own property. Everything that you could require is provided and the cottage oozes character. It is cosy but ample sized and very quickly feels like home. We appreciated the fresh flowers and the welcome tea tray complete with locally sourced ginger and choc chip biscuits! We will definitely be going back!

The cottage was like a home from home, a great place to come back to after a day's exploring. There was just everything you needed, but know you would have forgotten yourself. The welcome was great and the tea and biscuits waiting for us when we arrived was a brilliant touch. A great location for Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, the North York Moors Railway and just ambling about.
