We had a lovely week at Stone Water Cottage .. ..... the setting is beautiful & very peaceful. There is a "not drinking water" sign but we found out that you can!!! It needs a bit of tlc due to a leak but it is being fixed & this didnt ruin our time here. The owners were lovely & very friendly. We would definately return here!

Lovely quiet location near bonny Loch Achilty.. Within easy reach of Strathpeffer for shopping and cafes etc. It's a very nice cottage, compact enough for someone with mobility limitations, but a spacious living room area.. The owner lives on site and was very friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Stone Water Cottage.. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. The cottage is in a beautiful woodland setting on the shore of Loch Achilty, which is fantastic for boating and fishing. The owners of Stone Water Cottage gave us a proper highland welcome and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Would recommend Stone Water Cottage for a nice relaxing holiday and we will definitely be returning.

We loved Stone Water Cottage.. Firstly the setting is beautiful, there is a huge lawn looking over to the loch and it's position is absolutely ideal: quiet but not completely isolated. We loved exploring this gorgeous area, the towns are interesting and the scenery magnificent. The owners are so friendly and are on hand to give advice but they are not intrusive. It was a lovely touch to offer us the use of their rowing boat on the loch and we had great fun using it. Everyone mentions Toby, the owners' cocker Spaniel - he is delightful and very friendly, another wee bonus. Our weather was great and we were able to sit out with a glass of wine enjoying the tranquility and the beautiful surroundings. Can't wait to go back!

A beautiful, quiet, loch-side location and a comfortable cottage with everything you need for a self-catering stay in the Highlands.. The owners are friendly, helpful and welcoming but not intrusive and their adorable dog makes everyone feel at home. The location is an easy drive to Dingwall for food shopping and to Inverness for the airport and the Victorian market. There is plenty to see locally - Tollie red kites, the pictish Eaglestone in Strathpeffer, the lovely Rogie falls are all close by (and free) and it's perfectly placed for exploring the Northern Northern Highlands. We had a very relaxing week of walking, swimming in the Loch and enjoying the clean, fresh air.

Negative: No door on ice compartment in fridge.. No information about the cottage e.g. recycling bins. The overall décor both inside and out looked in need of and upgrade. Positive: The location of the cottage was very good, quiet and restful.

The owner was flexible with dates at the last minute which made this holiday possible. Owner left us a bottle of bubbles and some amazing homemade biscuits for our arrival because this was our honeymoon! There were even balloons on the door. I thought that was really nice. The kitchen and living room area is very modern and cozy. The owner allowed us to bring both our dogs. The cabin was always warm, the heaters are excellent! The owner and her children came to say hello on our first morning, and had text us the night before to make sure we were ok for directions because we were arriving at about 11pm in the fog and ice! Very kind. It was nice to just let the dogs run around in the morning in the grass outside the cabin. We will return to the cottage.

This was the first time my family and I had rented a property to use as a base for touring Scotland, therefore, we arrived with some trepidation as to what we would find. This was completely unfounded as the property was FANTASTIC. We had contacted the owner, prior to our arrival who had told us which of the three properties we would be allocated. On arrival, she came and introduced herself and her family and stated that if we needed anything, we should go to her house nearby. Until we left, that was all the contact we had. The property was very clean, well furnished with everything we needed, there was no reason to see her again. A very quiet location overlooking Loch Achilty, it was a great place to relax. With a 9 month old Grandson, it was a great surprise to wake up and see ducks that came to the french windows each morning and evening.to be fed. Something, even at that young age, he recognised. Would i go back? Definitely. Would I recommend this property? Definitely and have already done so.

Very kind and attentive owners are always on hand if needed. The fresh eggs were delicious, thank you! The cottage is well finished and very comfortable and cosy, with everything you might require provided. The local scenery is beautiful and peaceful, although you need go no further than Loch Achilty, a few yards from the house, where the light reflects on the water in all its moods. Small birds abound and there's a resident wren in the eaves, while ducks come to feed on the grass outside the door. Our dog loved the varied walks close at hand and so did we!
