Holiday Rental Description

Holiday home
This charming property lies two miles away from Whorlton and is situated on a former farm, three miles from Barnard Castle. The cottage has been imaginatively converted from an old stone stable and much consideration has been taken to transform the property into unique and superior holiday cottage, whilst retaining the original features and character throughout. The sitting, dining and kitchen areas are open-plan and the kitchen is well equipped with all mod-cons. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, making this a great cottage for a family holiday. The property is served by underfloor heating making it a cosy place to stay off-season. To the rear of the property is open farmland and lots of pathways to explore, making this an idyllic rural retreat at any time of year. 3 well-behaved dogs are welcome but sorry no smoking. Note: no electric car charging is permitted on site

Area
Whorlton is a pretty Teesdale village and has always been closely identified with the nearby Raby Castle and its owners. The castle has been enhanced and changed over the centuries, but has always retained its medieval heart. A walled garden and 200 acre deer park add to the beauty of the castle. The popular ancient market town of Barnard Castle is only three miles away with its own 12th Century Norman castle founded by Bernard de Balliol make this a fascinating place to visit. Coupled with a wide range of shops, an antiques quarter, a host of tea-rooms, pubs and restaurants, the region has something for everyone. The Bowes Museum, High Force and Shildon Railway museum are only a short drive away, and walkers will enjoy the many trails and footpaths around Teesdale.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
