It’s a very clean, bright and well equipped bungalow with a lovely comfortable bed.. The welcome gifts & hidden treats were much appreciated. There is a pretty rear garden with a lovely summerhouse. We enjoyed our stay despite the awful June weather. Due to the central location we were able to go either to the East coastal area or the North Coastal area to find some sunshine.

The accommodation was great but the location directions were a bit misleading, as they seemed to assume we were travelling from the east..

From the moment we arrived to be met by Maira the owner this cottage lived up to our hopes! Superb location, spotlessly clean and comfortable and containing everything you could think of (and a lot we never thought of!) Also loved the his and hers summer houses in the garden! All in all this cottage is a gem!!

We enjoyed our relaxing stay at Spurling cottage.. This was a lovely welcoming bright cottage, well looked after, clean and extremely well equipped (for which a lot of thought had gone into). As an owner managed and maintained property, the quality was a lot better than some of the managed Sykes cottages of a similar grade which we have stayed in recently. There is a washing machine (which is not made clear in the Sykes details). As self caterers we would normally liked to see larger fridge and freezer facilities but we managed with the local shops and Newmarket being close by. The cottage was well placed for exploring Cambridge and West Suffolk area. Thanks for the warm welcome, fresh flowers and other gifts which awaited us The Sykes directions with the key collection details (which we only used from the B1063) may need revisiting as we found the Brook Stud sign on Left (not right as stated) and we were confused about the left fork mention. Mrs D met us with the key and gave us a brief tour pointing out the main features, which was very useful. Further guidance/instructions to get the best out of the high spec tv (which we are not used to) and details of local walks could be added to the 'welcome file'. . As we book several cottages each year through Sykes we would consider an annual insurance policy rather than a one off. See previous feedback on other cottages re current Sykes website and improvements which could be made.

We loved staying at Spurling Cottage, it was extremely comfortable and beautifully clean.. It was delightfully decorated with a "vintage seaside" / "afternoon tea" feel to it and it had a lovely restful and warm atmosphere. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into ensuring it was extremely well equipped. Mr and Mrs D were charming hosts who clearly care deeply that their guests enjoy their holiday at the cottage. They were very friendly and attentive, we very much appreciated their kind welcome gifts and we were so pleased to have had the chance to meet them. We would very much recommend Spurling Cottage and would enjoy paying a return visit if we were holidaying in the area again.

Lovely cottage in gorgeous village a few miles from Newmarket.. Great location for travelling to Cambridge, Norwich and Suffolk. Booked last minute and Susan from Sykes Cottages was very helpful. The cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Lots of vintage items to help make it very cosy. Lovely garden which I enjoyed sitting out in. The owner met us on arrival and welcome gifts were appreciated. Would recommend this cottage

Compact but very well equipped and lovingly decorated cottage.. The owners were very welcoming, even waiting to greet us despite our very delayed arrival time. Wi fi was intermittent but given the property location, not really unsurprising since its a more rural area. The garden is compact but large enough to enjoy a meal sitting outside surrounded by the trees and listening to the birds singing. We had a very relaxing time and would certainly go back.

We had a fantastic week.. Cottage was everything we wanted it to be. Such a lovely welcome, extremely comfortable, well equipped and clean. Summer house and other delightful surprises in the garden made it a memorable stay. Very thoughtfully prepared. Would definitely book it again.
