Great cottage which is well located for walking in the Peak District.. Remember to take your slippers and take care on the steep steps up to the bedroom. The Samuel Fox is great for food and the Curry Cabin in Hope delivers.

Enjoyed the cottage.. All was as advertised - comfortable, warm and 'deceptively spacious'. The only downside was that TV reception was inconsistent and we had to use iPads. Wifi was good though.

Absolutely perfect.. This cottage is brilliant for a quick break (we stayed for four days) or a month (what we plan to do next time we come to this cottage). The cottage was so warm and cozy, even when it was chilly, rainy and miserable outside! So often, cottage owners leave cheap dish soap, used sponges and cheap toilet paper - that was certainly not the case here :) Everything was five star, including the delicious bottle of wine and bag of coffee left for us. The only thing we would suggest to visitors is to bring slippers as the bathroom's gorgeous tile gets quite cold in the morning! Thanks for a great stay!

The house has good sized rooms, and is fairly comfortable.. The external doors and all windows had recently been renewed with good quality double glazed units, and they are extremely good. At the point of booking there were only 7 photos for this property, but we see there are 24 photos now. We had wondered in which room the main table was (to eat at). The new photos confirm the table is in the kitchen. This table has 4 places, but is folded configured for 2 places on arrival due to the space available. When opened out it was OK for the three of us, but a bit tight to get in and out of due to the size of the opening flaps. Stairs and steps. The listing says the main stairs are steep. They are! Although reasonably fit, we took great care using the stairs, and were OK. The steps from the kitchen to the bathroom finish with a tiny step into the bathroom. It certainly hurts to stub your toe on this one - you will only do it once. The Wi-fi was absolutely brilliant, and when atmospheric conditions stopped the TV reception from working for 2 days, the internet was easily able to cope. However, mobile phone reception is too weak inside the cottage, requiring a short walk to the village green to get reception. There is a place to park your car outside, but the lavender bushes in the front bed stick out into this space, and force you to park too near the roadway for comfort. Some large vehicles do use this road, including horses. An alternative may be to ask at the nearby Inn to be allowed to park in their car park.

Clean and tidy cottage with good toilet facilities, close to Bowling Green Pub which served good food.. Cottage was convenient for visiting Castleton, Hope, Edale. Nice walks nearby.

August 2018
It was a pity that the front door couldn't be used as this made it a little harder for my son and daughter in law to come and go with the push chair.. But this was a small thing, to be rectified soon, and overall, they were very pleased.

Very nice little cottage, well appointed and comfortable - great location in Peaks and with good facilities in the village, including nearby pub..

November 2017
This was our third holiday with Syke's three year's running and we cannot emphasize enough how easy it is to book a get away with Syke's Cottage's.. I would highly recommend anyone wishing to get away for a few day's to use this company. The cottage we have used for the past three year's has been situated in a great location, spotlessly clean and the facility's are all in with the price. Great value for money. So all i can say finally is give Syke's Cottage's a go and I don't think anyone would be dissapointed. 10 out 10. So go on.............give it a go.

Absolute joy to use Sykes cottages again.. The information to get to the premises is accurate, beautiful location, everything we need was in walking distance (shop's and especially the pub). The cottage itself is very clean and well maintained and i would like to give a special mention to Julie Brown who look's after the property. We have been to this location 2 year's on the trot and we hope to return for many more visit's. Thank You Syke's Cottage's.

Smalldale is always a pleasure to visit. The lady who looks after the property should be commended for the cleanliness of the property. The people of Bradwell are always pleasant and have time for a chat, as do the local shopkeepers. The property is in a great village location - you are never very far from anywhere.
January 2015
Our first stay in the Peak District. Absolutely loved it and found this wonderful cottage just erfect for our needs in terms of accommodation and location. Very well equipped, loved the extras of DVDs and CDs catering for all ages. Bedrooms very comfortable and lounge especially so. When we come back we will definitely stay here again. If we had one minor issue ? Sort the toliet flush out but this did not distract from a great stay.

February 2014
Beautifully maintained and equipped cottage - warm and cosy with the open fire in the sitting room as a bonus. Bradwell is a great village because it has shops, pubs and buses, but does not rely on tourism alone so it feels like a real village. Everyone says hello which makes you feel welcome. We have stayed in this cottage before, and love the choice of walks straight from the door.
Mrs Gibson

April 2013
We've just returned home from a week at 3 Ingleside Cottages, Bradwell. We booked the cottage to visit family in Sheffield and celebrate our Grandson's 2nd birthday. You park your car a metre from the front door of the cottage, and further public parking is on-hand just 20 metres away (outside the Bowling Green Inn) if your party has more than one car. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival. The sitting room is very comfortable with an open fire (if you need it). The TV is not the most modern, and could do with an upgrade to a flat-screen, but there's a good choice of channels (on Freeview). We found the kitchen/diner equipped with everything we needed. However, the table and four chairs have to be "opened-up" from a compact cluster arrangement before you can use them, and the chairs aren't all that comfortable. The bathroom is very modern and has a bath and shower (a lovely shower). The bath isn't full size, so you might only be able to sit up in it, rather than stretch out. Two good-sized bedrooms ... comfy beds, large wardrobes and plenty of drawer space. We found Housekeeper, Julie, very helpful and obliging, She'd left us a note for us to contact her on arrival because of an issue she'd identified with one of the radiators, and then came round immediately we phoned her to sort it out. The "Bowling Green Inn", almost next door to the cottage, offers a selection of real ales and serves up truly delicious pub-grub. We highly recommend it, and you can enjoy superb views across the Hope Valley from their restaurant as you tuck-in.
Mr Noblett

Cottage was in an excellent location; with a good pub only yards away. Lots to do and see in the surrounding area with really useful leaflets left by the owners.
September 2012
Booked this cottage at the last minute for us. We have stayed in Bradwell before but not at this cottage. Great Location for shops, inc. Co-op, hairdressers, bread shop and post office. The cottage had plenty of room and was very comfortable - very easy to relax in. Small private garden at the rear - very pleasant! Plenty of room in cottage and well stocked with items. Yards from local pub - recommend Quiz night for a good laugh. Parking outside cottage. Hike up the hill and across the fields to Castleton for good exercise! We would recommend this property and will be booking again!
Mrs Barford

January 2012
The cottage itself was cosy and warm. A well equipped kitchen meant we could cook up big hearty winter breakfasts as well as prepare all the local goods we picked up on our adventures in the evening. Thanks again to the owner for the bottle of wine and coffee!! A great base to explore the peaks! We did a good days hike in Edale followed by a day exploring Eyam, Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Matlock Baths. The Bowling Green Pub around the corner was very friendly and welcoming.
January 2012
A delightful, well appointed comfotable cottage, as above, which was warm and cosy and in an excellent position. The Bowling Green pub next door was very welcoming and had excellent food and beers. so the whole weekend was great. We tried to book it again in May, but it had gone! We will try October!

December 2009
Loved the cottage, although the weather was freezing the cottage was lovely and warm. Very well maintained and what looked liked just re-redoecorated bedrooms and bathrooms. The stairs are steep, so if you have small children you might want to bring a stair gate. Spoke to the owner over the phone, he was very helpful and they even left us a bottle of win and coffee as a welcome. Thoroughly recommended.
December 2009
I could quite happily have moved into this cottage and never moved out again! Lovely cottagey feel, lounge was really comfy and the new modern kitchen provided everything we needed. Bathroom was new and well designed. Bedrooms were cosy and homely. The garden was a suntrap, but we had to keep a watch over the dog due to the quite high drop at the grass edge. Would probably not be safe for small children unless a small fence were erected next to the ledge. My husband and I did not have a problem with the steep stairs up to the bedrooms, but my mum struggled with the steepness of them - not ideal if you need to go downstairs to the loo in the middle of the night! Again, these would be unsafe for small children (I believe this was pointed out in the brochure, but as we don't have small children, it wasnt really an issue to us - I would not choose this property if I were to bring my small grandchildren) The location is perfect - plenty of walks and convenient for driving to places of interest. The service we received from Sykes holidays - as previously when we went to a property in Yorkshire a couple of years previously - was faultless. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff at Sykes are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Sykes as a company, and the properties that we have stayed in.
