The cottage was comfortable, clean and the view was great especially from the master bedroom.. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay the patio was lovely and would be fantastic on a summers day. Could not fault it.

Everything about the cottage was lovely, the location was also really good! Just to improve I would suggest having a few more essentials stocked in the cupboard which we have always had before when using a Sykes cottage e.g. salt & pepper, a bath mat. Apart from that would highly recommend.

Beautiful clean cottage in a perfect location.. Very well equipped with lots of crockery and glasses. It was warm and cosy and just right for a winter break.

Mainly accessibility and cleanliness kitchen.. The listing states that you can get to the cottage to load/unload and you can not, you're about 50ft away if you negotiate a very tight steep lane. Leaving you to carry all your things along a steep footpath to the house itself where there is then a big step up to then negotiate. With a bad back and a bad knee we would never have chosen this accommodation had it not been falsely advertised. We were aware about the roadside parking away from property which was fine but loading/unloading is not. The rest is attention to detail: The kitchen has damp smelling cupboards which need a good clean inside and out. There is only one glass tumbler when the cottage sleeps four, however there's two wine carafes and plenty of wine glasses so I assume if you have kids they can share the tumbler and you can lap up the vino! The TV is under the bookshelf in the living room facing along the wall not diagonally into the room, so not easy to watch by everyone. We ended up getting a kitchen chair and sitting the TV. Bedroom is massive but nothing to put clothes on overnight apart from the floor, a couple of chairs or an ottoman would help. Little twin room smells funky, and the bed under the window has no support. Facility wise good and Bolehill excellent location for local walks and attractions of Derwent Valley. We would return to the area but not to this cottage.

Excellent location for surrounding places of interest with an interesting town and local attractions.. My wife thinks the cottage was probably the best we have stayed in. We would like to have stayed longer but the heat was a bit off-putting, particularly for my wife. We didn't realise what a beautiful area the Peak District is.

Enjoyed our stay a lovely peaceful quiet place if only there was some better .... Enjoyed our stay a lovely peaceful quiet place if only there was some better seating on the patio area a couple of comfortable lounges would of been ideal ,we noticed this has already been commented on the visitors book but overall we couldn't fault it

Not suitable for young children due to the steep stairs and the main bedroom door opening onto the first step (which has had a third of the step cut away at the top - ie toddler could fall straight down the stairs as they would not always be conscious of it when opening the bedroom door).. Also the dog hair from the previous booking caused breathing problems but that is our fault for not thinking to avoid pet friendly accommodation. The roads are steep and no immediate parking so this may be challenging for older people especially when packing up or unloading.

The cottage was extremely clean, well equipped and very cosy with beautiful views.. On road parking was limited and a problem for our large car but didn’t spoil things.. Contact with the owner was made easy and a pleasure to deal with.
