A beautiful location and sympathetically renovated cottage in the grounds of Wyreside Hall. Some building work going on around the grounds but did not impact on the stay at all.

We loved it at Wyreside cottages, it was so peaceful and the grounds were very beautiful.. The cottage was comfy and had all the utensils and mod cons needed. The interior was really modern and pristine, we loved the rabbit kitchen tiles! Fantastic that we could bring our dog Buddy too who enjoyed exploring the area. We visited Garstang, Morecambe and Lancaster on our trip and the cottage was a great base to explore from. The Fleece Inn pub is 20 min walk away and a must too!!

Lovely cottage in country estate with marvellous grounds.. Cottage fitted out to high standard, however we did miss not having curtains on the patio doors. The cottage was immaculate and decor good. We stayed for a week and brought our food with us, however there was no freezer section in the fridge. Little things like no sanitary bin in bathroom and perhaps a lamp in lounge may also improve. Our comments are not critical but just constructive as we know how important good feedback is and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

My only criticisms are: I could not find the control to turn down the underfloor heating as it was too hot during the night, even with the window open.. There were no curtains for the patio doors for a little bit of privacy. The Skipper was tastefully decorated and we loved staying there. Excellent value for money and beautiful surroundings.

It was a weekend away for my wedding (being held at Wyreside Hall itself), the bridal party stayed over the night before and the night of.. The cottages were unlocked when we arrived so no hassle getting in. Beautiful and clean spaces, really comfortable and cosy. On the morning of my wedding each cottage we’d booked had a bottle of fizz outside from the wedding venue, beautiful touch!! I can’t fault the cottages at all, they served us perfectly!

The cottage was new and very modern, location great even though the site is still under construction there was no work done while we were there.. It was quiet and exactly what we were looking for. Found little things missing that we usually find in holiday rentals e.i. No visitor information regarding local attractions, places to eat etc. Perhaps a visit to tourist information to get some leaflets and maps of local area would be helpful. Despite this we had a lovely holiday and would like to return in a couple of years when all the grounds work is completed as it will be absolutely stunning.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable.. The grounds of Wyreside Hall in which we were free to roam are attractive but the Hall is in course of renovation and to the rear it is a construction site. Skipper was reasonably equipped but the facilities would be improved by the provision of a bedside light, a hairdryer, a towel rail or hooks in the bathroom and larger breakfast bowls. We had a very restful week and the cottage is ideally situated to explore the Forest of Bowland, the North Lancs coast and the Lake District

Next door to a building site.. Not enough towells . Just one tea towell. No where to hang towells to dry.Cheap furniture.Thermastat and switch for hot water hidden behind micro wave, took two days to find. Last morning could not get out of lodge gate. .So not the best of holidays. Bill and Sheila Ayers

For someone confined to wheelchair the step in was a bit difficult even though it wasn't high.. The bathroom was also too small for wheelchair. Owner was lovely and helpful. We we're lucky that none of the other cottages we're let , so we had the grounds all to ourselves, it was peaceful and relaxing. My husband's health permitting, we would love to return.

Have never written a review after 3 lovely days at skipper cottage I though I needed too. Wonderful location , clean lovely accommodation and friendly hosts. Romy the owner was friendly and welcoming to us and our dog paddy. On our last day I asked if we could check out a bit later if no one was coming into the cottage to be told leave when ever you are ready or stay another night if you like (no charge ) Thank you for a lovely break and we will definitely return.
