The cottage is in a wonderful location surrounded by the hills in the Duddon Valley.. Follow the instructions as given how to get there and dont rely on sat nav as this took us up a mountain pass!! The cottage itself is lovely and spacious, very well equiped. The owners Gail and John were very friendly and a font of local knowledge. We had a great week touring round the area, there is so much to do and see for all the family.

The cottage is in a remote location, 6 miles along a narrow, winding single lane road with passing points.. A nice touch would have been to have some basics - especially milk, available as most other places I have stayed have done. After travelling over 3 hours then unloading the car, we didn’t feel like going back out for milk. Given the remote location, I was very surprised at the amount of local traffic. There is a pub next door and a camp site half a mile up the road, so that would explain it. The house itself could do with updating. There are two bathrooms with shower above the baths. My husband is less than six feet tall, but he was still too tall to shower comfortably. A nice big shower could easily be put in rather than having two baths. The owners were really nice and helpful, and exchanged a sky box that wasn’t working. I really liked having the living room upstairs which takes advantage of the lovely views, however the floorboards are very noisy which is awkward if anyone is trying to sleep downstairs. A great place to stay as long as you are aware of the points mentioned above, none of which spoilt our holiday! The bakery in Broughton-in-Furness is well worth a visit.

We were very comfortable.. The hosts were welcoming and happy to answer questions or show how things worked. The beds were very comfortable. There looked as if there were plenty of heaters in the cottage so it would be warm in winter. It really is a quick minute walk to the pub.

The owners were extremely welcoming, they were most attentive and pleasant. The utility room was a great feature, and also the fact that there was a pub next door was an added bonus. Thus the cottage was a winner. Well done!

Excellent location and a very warm house as the living area is upstairs. The owners are very helpful and only next door if they are needed. Excellent facilities, with a separate washer and dryer in the utility room; perfect for families, walkers and cyclists (on and off road). Pub a few doors away, with local food and ales, no noise audible from the cottage. Good walks and cycle rides from the doorstep.
