If you want peace; if you want tranquility; if you want an outstanding location; if you want welcoming and very friendly people then Slade and Seascape is perfect.. The accommodation has everything you could possibly need, the kitchen is very well equipped, the bedrooms are great, the toilets too, and the view from the upstairs sitting room is just to die for! Our host spoiled us with cakes, fruit and other local produce ready for our enjoyment. This is our second time in Seascape and we can’t wait to our next visit. April 2018.

We spent a week at Sea Scape in April.. The house was lovely, lovely location overlooking the harbour. Only slight negatives were the garden wasn’t visible from the house so we felt we could just let the children out to play (although I’m sure they would’ve been perfectly fine), and the DVD player didn’t work when we wanted to let the kids watch a film on a rainy day. It would also benefit from some WiFi. However, Mary met us at the house with some fresh bread, local jam, a big cake and some Easter eggs for the children. She gave us a tour round and instructions to use all the appliances/heating etc which were really helpful. All the little extras by far outweighed the ‘negatives’. My husband caught a dozen small whiting in the harbour, the kids caught a couple of crabs, we had fun exploring the beach and local area, and found easy links to Waterford and nearby towns to visit some nearby attractions. We would definitely come back again!

A little remote, but in an area of outstanding beauty which made it a perfect base for exploring.. The cottage was well appointed, clean and we were made very welcome.

What a fantastic property set next to a tiny working harbour. The house is beautifully maintained and has a lounge on the first view which has an incredible view out to sea. We have never seen a vista like it. The owner was an extremely helpful lady arriving with home made cakes for us, we could not have felt more welcome. The scenery around the area is amazing, the small ferry taking you across to Waterford is interesting as well. Highly recommend this lovely holiday home

House was in a great location.. Plus we were given warm welcome by the owner who cooked brown bread, cream cake and had milk in fridge and fruit in for first night which made everyone feel so welcome. We loved the property and wld like to return.

The lounge on the first floor has an absolutely stunning view of a tiny working harbour and a vast shoreline.. I have never seen a view like it. The TV was never switched on because the view from the house was mesmerising. I highly recommend this holiday home.

We enjoyed staying next to the coast; the location was beautiful, with the walks along the shore and the lighthouse. In Ireland we enjoyed the scenery, nature and the history. Also, the friendliness and helpfulness of the Irish people was striking!

The owners made us very welcome, as did all the local people we met. This is an outstanding location and the cottage was very clean and well furnished. There was nothing we would change or indeed suggest any improvements. We look forward to a return visit very soon. A holiday to remember!

Close to the sea, ideal for a fishing holiday which was the reason we chose this cottage and we plan to book the same place next year.

Our contact at the house was brilliant, she could not have been more helpful. She went to some lengths to make the stay as good as it could be, a great host who went out of her way. The house is in a great and, for us, fascinating location with good walks and interesting things around. It is a light, airy, clean and pleasant house to stay in.

Our contact at the house, Mary, was brilliant. She could not have been more helpful. She went to some lengths to make the stay as good as it could be. A great host who went out of her way - very typical of our Irish experiences in general but Mary took it to another level of thoughtfulness and generosity. The brilliant reputation the Irish have as wonderful hosts is well merited. The house is in a great and, for us, fascinating location with good walks and interesting things around. It is a light and airy, clean and pleasant house to stay in. We had plenty of room and were comfortable the whole time. I enjoyed Slade - found the working harbour and the characters around the hamlet interesting. The Hook area in general was entertaining, loved driving about the area - lots to do for us. The brilliant weather helped a lot. Some very good food at the Templars Inn not far away, probably the best pub food we ate in Ireland. The kitchen could have done with a sharp knife and a few more cooking essentials. We purchased a knife and left it there but there should be a decent chefs knife and a sharpener. We like to cook a lot and found it frustrating. I believe there will be wifi soon - missed not having it. Overall, I would recommend this cottage enthusiastically.

The cottage had sweeping views of the harbour and coast from the upstairs rooms and an inviting open fireplace in the kitchen. We especially appreciated the lovely tea that had been prepared for our arrival. We felt very welcome!
