The multi-award winning town of Clonakilty is a place of spires, towers and historic buildings, with pretty, traditional shops painted in bright colours. The picturesque streets and narrow lanes open out into elegant squares bustling with live music and a great selection of eateries to satisfy all tastes. A lively, colourful, thriving town, Clonakilty is home to a Blue Flag sandy beach, and is located close to the popular seaside resort of Inchydoney, where there is a surfing school available, perfect for a fun, family day out. With the West Cork Railway Village, leisure centre, cinema and an abundance of local beaches, Clonakilty is a great family destination, and is a town that knows how to please its visitors. Only 8 miles away lies the town of Rosscarbery, which dates back to the 6th century. Nowadays, it benefits from a lovely laid-back, relaxed atmosphere, with quaint little shops, good Irish pubs and quality restaurants. Rosscarbery is in close proximity to 3 fine beaches, with its own Blue Flag Warren Beach. Those who enjoy water sports are well catered for, and there are great opportunities for walking, cycling and golf.
