The School House is a spacious and comfortable property well laid out and catered for larger groups.. The location is very quiet and peaceful and perfect for exploring the delights of the National Park.

We had a relaxing holiday in a lovely house.. The weather wasn’t brilliant but it was no hardship staying in the school house!

A great place to stay for a fairly large group but still with the space to move around and feel comfortable.. Excellent location for reaching all the recommended attractions in Pembrokeshire and a fantastic place to retreat to at the end of the day. By far the best we've stayed in so far.

Wonderful home, everything felt luxurious with huge bathrooms and beautiful decor.. Building was so interesting with lots of original features and a booklet about the buildings history. Kitchen had everything we could want. Tonnes of space for everyone, we all loved it there.

We were a party of 4 couple's on a new year break.. Leading up to our stay I had emails to let me know directions and how to get into the cottage, I also had a call from the owner to give me more information. Once we arrived the cottage was perfect, it had everything you could ask for catering for everyone of all ages. The cottage was spotless, and even had a bottle of champagne and chocolates as a welcome, lovely touch. It is a very well maintained property and of a high standard I would recommend to anyone. Also the Pump on the Green pub across the road were very welcoming and serve excellent food,we had a very good night there on New year's eve, excellent.

Just had the most amazing holiday at the old school house. It ended up just being 5 of us as some of our party where unable to come at the last minute but even if they had we would have had more than ample room. Such a beautiful, well equipped, big but cosy/homely place to stay, in such a location that you can discover all that Pembrokeshire has to offer, with ease. And then the icing on the cake is the pump on the green pub literally just across the road, with its friendly locals and good food.

School house is a stunning cottage.. We were amazed by the size and the standard of finish and the thought that had gone into everything, it literally had everything you needed. Great location for getting out and about to discover all the beauty that is Pembrokeshire. The pub across the road was an added bonus with such a friendly atmosphere and really nice food. We will definitely be booking again.

We where a family of 8 with 2 dogs and this place was perfect to accommodate all of us. Very spacious and beautifully decorated and in keeping with natural beauty of the School House, we very much enjoyed reading some of the extracts written by the Head over the years when it was a school. The garden was perfect for cups of tea in the sun whilst watching the bees and smelling the lavender. The place is a quiet village and very friendly, with a park and green next to the property. The house was very well equipped and the host was very good at communicating, we highly recommend this charming place to stay.

The cottage was fitted out with everything we could have asked and more - we could have been at home.. Superbly kept property and garden which was quite delightful and so well maintained. The proportions of the living space were such that 8 adults, one 18 month old boy and a large dog never made us feel cramped in the slightest. We would say that the cottage is exceptional.

Lovely place, beautiful garden.. Extremely well equipped if you were fully self catering.Pub over the road very welcoming to humans and dogs. A few minor criticisms, beds not very comfy, we had lovely weather and could really have done with a sunshade over the outside table. Could not find anywhere close to walk dogs in the morning before we went out for the day. Found the rubbish explanation confusing, the black bin was full when we arrived, but no one else had put their bins out on the week we stayed?

The School House was amazing, you couldn’t fault the facilities or the location.. It was so well equipped & so comfortable with the added benefit of the most amazingly friendly pub, The Pump On The Green, opposite!! We had our elderly parents with us & the house was perfect for them. The only comment we would make is, perhaps it would be preferable to list the house as not accepting dogs. We had my sisters dog with us & I completely understand the dog policy in place but I know she felt on edge worrying about having to watch his every move in the garden!!!! It didn’t make the house any less amazing or comfortable but maybe it should be a consideration? Overall, it was a fabulous week, thank you Sykes & thank you Leonie

The School House is a superb holiday cottage.. A building full of character, retaining many original features . It has been converted and restored in a very sympathetic way using good quality materials. The equipment provided is comprehensive and met all our needs. Spittal is conveniently located within a short drive of much of Pembrokeshire and the Pump on the Green, just opposite the house, is a very welcoming and friendly pub and restaurant. The best Sykes cottage I've stayed in.

Firstly, the pictures of the School House do not do it justice! A beautifully converted building with more space than you can imagine for a party of 8 - my cousins and I were even able to dedicate the mezzanine level solely to yoga sessions, without the space being missed by the rest!! As a group, we spent most evenings cooking and eating together (every utensil, pot and pan imaginable are provided), then lounging around the wood burner with the drinks and laughter flowing, plotting how we could make the school house our own!!! I particularly enjoyed reading up on a little bit of history in the School House clippings folder - a brilliant touch. Would really recommend the pub across the road for a meal, very friendly atmosphere and although there were only two veggie options on the menu, the one that I ordered was delicious and we were provided with complimentary vegetables for the table, which is always a bonus!! We did not explore the village much unfortunately, but it was a very quiet setting. Further afield, the house is a short drive to Haverfordwest and Pembroke Docks, plus several beaches (we visited Freshwater West and Broadsands) walking trails (Stackpole and the Preselis), so is great for getting it and about in the days! As a group we all agreed, without a doubt, that we would stay here again based on the size, location and price. Our one and only qualm was that the water seemed to only runs hot early in the morning and we're a family of keen hikers... so trying to shower in the evening in a cold shower wasn't fun. Apart from that, 10 out of 10, and thank you to the owner's for providing so much to enable our stay to be so wonderful!!

House was extremely well appointed, lacked nothing.. We especially appreciated the fact that there was tea and coffee left there as well as frozen food etc.from previous rentals. Very enjoyable stay, will be back.

This is a great place to stay with friends or family. There is plenty of room and the facilities are superb. The wood burner makes it a cosy stay for colder times of the year and the courtyard must be fab in the warmer months. Spitall is located near Haverfordwest and central to many of attractions in Pembrokeshire. I thoroughly recommend The School House.

School House is an absolutely stunning property. It is really well equipped and furnished. The house was well decorated and immaculate throughout. The whole family were really impressed and enjoyed the stay. I don't think the photos do the property justice, it's not until you get there that you realise how big it is!

The School House was perfect in every way. Situated in a quiet village yet close enough to local tourist spots. The property offers disabled facilities and with big rooms and plenty of space it worked exceptionally well. We had everything we needed-and more. Sad to leave ..... will definitely return.

It was absolutely perfect - comfortable, well equipped, easy to be in, lots of room for everyone.. Having the mezzanine area was a real boon as the children could use that separately from the adults downstairs. We would recommend it highly.

In every way School House has to be just the best place to base yourself for a holiday in Pembrokeshire. With every mod-con imaginable School House provided luxurious accommodation that is not only spacious and very well equipped it is also Pet Friendly! We’ve just spent a week there to celebrate our parents ‘Diamond Wedding’. With the coast only minutes away and pet friendly beaches even the dogs have had a ball. I cannot recommend ‘School House’ highly enough. With a pub opposite serving delicious food we truly were spoilt - I cannot wait to return.

We booked School House to celebrate my husbands 60th Birthday. The venue certainly made the event a special birthday - friends and family commented on the wonderful location and the fabulous venue. School House is a 'hidden treasure.' It has super modern bathrooms and a modern spacious kitchen, and the owners have managed to retain the wonderful history of the building. We also loved the log burner which was an added bonus on a wintry weekend in December.

The cottage was a true consolation on rainy days. Fantastic for bigger families / groups of friends: everyone had their own space as well as space to share. Lots of comfy sitting, lovely modern kitchen, the multi fuel burner - we couldn't have asked for more!
