The house was perfect for summer visit but I would say it would be very cold in winter time.. The host was helpful and checked in on us half way though our stay to make sure everything was ok. Beautiful location with stunning views of the river. 5 min drive to Kenmare town but road is too narrow to walk with no footpaths on main road also. We enjoyed our stay.

Glad to Come Home ! We booked a large family home to sleep ten but the house failed to meet our expectations and we were glad to come home. First time this has happened in thirty years. When I spoke to Sykes on the third day of the holiday, and informed the we had bed bugs, they were unresponsive and did not take any action, they just referred to the small print with regard to the kitchen. We could not enjoy a home cooked meal together and the idea of having chilled beer or wine was not achievable as the fridge was a mini one and not big enough for anything more than a couple of lettuce! Will not be using Sykes ever again as I feel they offer very poor customer service.

Roughty Bridge is in a lovely location but is now very dated and tired.. Many of the windows catches did not work or were missing. Lots of lights did not work and the kitchen layout is a nightmare to work in. No hooks on doors meant towels and clothing were hard to place. The very old fashioned avocado basins and dark wooden wardrobes add to the dated feel. Having said that we had a great time at the house which suited our needs in the hot weather. Another shower and toilet would have been useful as well. Peter and Nelly are lovely and we enjoyed our stay which was for a family wedding so a large house was what needed.
