Our second holiday for a family celebration and this year just as good as last.. Three generations aged 1 year to 82. The room configuration suited us exactly. Our only complaint is that the same week next year is already booked!,

This is a very well-appointed property, very clean and with modern bathroom facilities.. All rooms tastefully decorated, with lots of interesting paintings and prints on the walls. Very friendly owners (phone and text contact only), who left a generous welcome gift of lots of fruit, a cake, milk and wine on arrival. The main kitchen is the heart of the home, and we used the rather grand dining room as a board games room. Lots of books, guides, maps etc on what to do in the area, and a very helpful handbook about the property and area. We were 8 friends meeting for an annual reunion.

My family and I have now stayed in 3 or 4 Sykes properties and this one was, by far, the best.. We greatly appreciated the quality of the renovation of the old property and the cleanliness thereof. The property is ideally located for interesting walks - starting at the door step!

Excellent facilities with plenty of rooms (and bathrooms) for a group reunion.. Very well equipped. Several thoughtful extras - e.g. welcoming basket of fruit etc, shower gel, all that was needed for our stay. Welcome information book very helpful. Setting good and location good for exploring. 2 small suggestions.....non-slip mats in all the bathrooms/shower rooms. A facility for disposing of recyclable refuse.

A beautifully equipped house with space, warmth and comfort.. The surrounding area is lovely with lots to do and plenty of helpful information in the house. We were a party of 15 aged three weeks to eighty and celebrating a Golden Wedding. It was perfect and we hope to return for the next eightieth!!

Very well appointed with high spec finishes.. Welcome basket of fruit in both kitchens was a nice touch. The weather was pretty inclement when we stayed so had to spend quite a bit of time in the accommodation but there was a large selection of books, dvd's and games to play and plenty of space for the children to run around in. Narrow lanes with quite a few potholes but would expect that in a rural location. Short route was 100 metres to the A6.

We didn’t want to go home! Cannot recommend this cottage enough. We were a party of 14 staying for 2 nights. A lovely welcome pack waiting for us on arrival, very helpful owners, 2 extremely well equipped kitchens, gorgeous bedrooms with luxurious bedding & towels, more than enough space in the 2 sitting rooms & dining room, and amazing surroundings. We would love to return in the future.

The location was stunning and the accommodation was very high.. There was plenty of room for our family celebration. The large dining room with it's large oak table seated 14 of us comfortably. The only downside was that the weekend went too quickly and we had to leave. Can highly recommend this property and Sykes cottages.

The cottage was perfect for our family group.. The two separate wings of bedrooms worked well for us, giving us plenty of space both public and personal. The cottage was beautiful inside, the bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The farmhouse kitchen in particular was a great space to congregate and had everything that we needed. We enjoyed being able to go on a walk to Millers Dale from the cottage, as well as visiting Stanage Edge, Chatsworth, Casteton and Bakewell. The cottage was an important part of making our break so successful. For a big group holiday, I think Rock Lodge Farm is a great choice.

I arranged a group of 14 of us to stay in the farm house as part of a University reunion (July 2017).. The accommodation was really amazing - very clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and lovely to cook in. The farm house had superb views with easy access to Bakewell and Chatsworth House nearby. There was ample space for parking. The owners were very accommodating and their attention to detail made this a lovely weekend away.

Wonderful location with good view.. Kids loved having sheep in cows in every direction. Very pretty, comfortable, spacious home. Excellent handbook to help us get settled. Kitchen had all the equipment we needed to feed our large crew. Minor suggestions: maybe a few more towels and face clothes in baths.... all in all a very comfortable!!!

I booked Rock Lodge Farm for a girly weekend.. The farm house is absolutely beautiful and the countryside surrounding it is stunning. We felt like we were a million miles away from anywhere so it was very relaxing. Buxton is about 15 minutes away so not too far if you need anything. We were able to book an online shopping delivery to the house from a Supermarket in Buxton. The house is very spacious with lots of places to sit and get cosy. The bedrooms are all beautiful and comfortable. It was spotless throughout. Booking through Sykes Cottages was very easy. I was kept up to date with my booking with emails from Sykes and I also contacted by the owners of the house. They were lovely to speak to and very helpful. They also said if there was anything we needed we could contact them. I would definitely recommend this house and I would love to go back again at some point in the future.
